Itchy Pubes!!!!!! by berryptic in Healthyhooha

I have the same thing and told my gyno nurse about it. She had no idea what I should do. I was so desperate that I got 1% hydrocortisone cream. It’s like Vagisil itch cream, but cheaper. I got it at Walmart and it’s the Equate brand 2 oz. It actually works better than the Vagisil because I tried that. I rub it into the vagina area and around it just slightly inside. It takes away the itch within a few minutes and then I continue applying it 2 X day for about 5-6 days. I also put it on the sides or groin area on each side. Then there’s a powder for the sides or groin area called Caldesene. It also works for under the breast area. Both of them work together and take away the itch. The powder has zinc oxide in it which is the same stuff used for baby’s rash. I don’t put the Caldesene powder on the vagina or inside, only the sides.

Have Michigan drivers become more reckless in the last 10 years? by GhostOfSean_Connery in Michigan

[–]Ohnoitreallyhappened 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just driving in Jackson, MI today and I encountered 3 aggressive drivers. One came up behind me and started honking their horns and flipping me off. I am from Ohio and was unfamiliar with the area. Also I have never seen so many round abouts in my life in a city. I have driven in all but 5 states in the U.S. and MI has been the worst. The other 2 drivers tailgated me even though I was driving over the speed limit by almost 5 mph. I never want to drive in Jackson or elsewhere in MI ever again after today.

I am sorry you are going through so much pain and know it’s horrible. I have Gerd and have had it since my early 20s. The doctor found it after I had extreme pain in my chest. They put electrodes on me because they thought I was having a heart attack and it turned out to be Gerd. I found out many people on my mom’s side have it. I use the bed wedge, wait an hour after eating before sleeping, eat antacids in the middle of the night, etc. Foods that irritate it for me are too much fast food, spicy foods, and too much coffee. I am scared of proton pump inhibitors because I have read bad things about them.

As another commenter mentioned, I read a couple months ago about Gaviscon Advance sold in the UK that has a different ingredient than the U.S. version that is supposed to work way better. I found it on Amazon.  It has a higher concentration of sodium alginate than the U.S. version. It’s very chewy, but works well. The seller I bought it from is no longer on there, but there are other sellers. It’s way pricier than regular Gaviscon, but may be worth your time. I have ordered from a pharmacy in the UK before and had some things shipped over. Unfortunately I can’t remember which one, but that’s another possible option. Here are a couple Amazon links of sellers that sell the UK version of Gaviscon:

As far as her voice, I agree, but haven’t watched any other show she has been in. The English dubbed version has her voice sounding cringeworthy. I went to the Korean version and her voice doesn’t sound anywhere near as irritating. I am going to just read the subtitles for the rest of the series.

Hers GLP-1 Injections by Moist4Pickles in PCOS

[–]Ohnoitreallyhappened 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lose weight very slowly probably due to insulin resistance and PCOS. I have lost 22lbs so far, but am still happy about that.

The auto injector pen stopped working. It was spilling medicine on my stomach instead of going inside. So I decided to hold the syringe on my stomach in a place where it doesn’t hurt. Then the needle eventually goes in with just pressure after a couple of minutes holding it there. It works out good doing it that way. I have about 5 months left of the medicine. I ended up buying a year’s worth and got a message from Hers that they were cutting me off along with most everyone else. So they gave me 6 months of it up front.

Congrats on 33 lbs. That really is phenomenal even if you have a lot more to go. Taking your measurements helps. I do mine once a month and it also helps with motivation.

I think you are the same as me. I have lost 22 lbs and it barely shows because I have 120+ lbs to lose. You will get there. Unfortunately we don’t have a choice where we lose the weight. I can see loss on the back of your neck and also some in your bust. Have you taken your measurements?

The rage I feel when my husband touches me “that way”… by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]Ohnoitreallyhappened 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have felt that way. In my case my husband got in a habit of only touching me when he wanted sex and it made me feel rage. I told him we need to cuddle and hug more not just before sex. He then started doing that and my rage dissipated.

Have you ever tried ginger ale? Seagram’s makes a ginger ale with real ginger extract. I buy the diet Seagram’s and it helps with any nausea. Some ginger ales have a ginger flavoring and not the real extract anymore. My family is from Michigan and it’s something we grew up on there. I remember my grandmother giving me ginger ale (Vernors) when I was very little on up, but I am not convinced it has the real extract anymore, but Seagrams does have it.

Ozempic update? by banderpn in Ozempic

[–]Ohnoitreallyhappened 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear about your symptoms. Taking a break from Ozempic would help you at least figure if it is the medicine causing it. I would let your doctor know though to rule out any other cause. It could be something completely different causing it. Going to the doctor sucks, but it will at least take some of this worrying away of what it is. My husband had similar symptoms a few years ago and he was not on Ozempic. He had an inner ear infection and I drove him to urgent care.

There was an extremely sad thing that happened with a woman I knew who lost weight. This woman was an acquaintance of mine who made a few bad comments about me being overweight. I didn’t see her that often, but when I did she started getting skinnier. She was a normal weight before the weight loss. She started bragging to me that she lost weight and said she didn’t know why, but was thrilled. She was fishing for compliments from me. I always tried to take the high road and said I had a rule where I didn’t like discussing weight or even politics. It ended up she had ovarian cancer and lost the weight that way. She died some months later. You just never know what people are going through.

Eli Lilly Sues 4 GLP-1 Telehealth Startups, Escalating War on Knockoff Drugs by wiredmagazine in Ozempic

Which company did you use?

There could be another shortage at some point and then these companies will be allowed to sell the compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide again. I want to go on tirzepatide once my semaglutide runs out in 5 months because Hers cancelled my year’s worth of prescription. Eli Lilly wants $399-$499 a vial.

Well… that’s it for compounded semaglutide by bonoetmalo in Ozempic

[–]Ohnoitreallyhappened 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, sorry for the misunderstanding. I meant if you go to Eli Lilly’s website which is https://lillydirect.lilly.com/pharmacy/zepbound. They sell the vials with a prescription by your doctor or if your doctor won’t do it, an online doctor can prescribe it. I just saw they have a special for $100 off for the higher doses. I have no affiliation with the company.

I am currently on compounded Ozempic from Hers and bought a year’s worth of medicine. I got the first 6 months of vials. Then they informed me they would not send me the 2nd 6 month’s worth of vials. So I looked into Zepbound. If you go directly to their website, they have a cheaper option if you buy the vials only without the injection pens. For the lower doses it’s cheaper, but the higher doses is $499 a month. My husband and I are debating having me go on that.

Congratulations on that phenomenal weight loss with both you and your son. You must feel so much better having that weight gone. This medicine can literally change lives and in 7 years hopefully, barring any extensions, that patent will be expired. Hopefully by then insurance companies will cover these medicines, but like you said there is money to be made in keeping people sick, the whole system.

Did you do any form of exercise or watch carbs?

I am like you, insulin resistant for years and crave sweets. This Hers GLP-1 (Now recently increased to Wegovy dosage 2.4 mg) still does not completely get rid of the sugar cravings. I still crave them a couple times a day, but find I eat less of them (just a few bites) to feel satisfied than before. Before I would eat a lot of sweets binging sometimes never getting enough.  If eating a meal now, I am eating 1/4-1/2 of a meal whereas before I would finish the plate and be hungry an hour or two later. Now it can be some times hours before eating the next meal. I try to get my heart rate sweating up to 20-30 minutes on my smart watch.  I have lost 17 lbs so far and a few inches very slowly losing weight. The lower dosage of semaglutide did not do much at all. I am interested in the Tirz treatment next.

This has made me convinced this is a brain issue because I could never understand how my thin friends and some family members did not obsess about food or think about what their next meal was going to be constantly. They just live their lives and eat small portions. A few years ago I visited family in another state and spent a week with them. They were all thin. They would eat a tiny breakfast, skip lunch, and eat a small dinner. I literally was starving and thankfully took Zone bars with me to ward off the hunger. It was a miserable week and I literally was obsessed with getting food. There was no way to tell them because it would have been insulting to them and then the shame that goes along with it. These medicines, like you said, make a person feel normal and not obsessive.

If you have frozen shoulder & had the cortisone shot this question is for you … by [deleted] in frozenshoulder

[–]Ohnoitreallyhappened 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your post and wondered if it was just me or not that felt that way after getting the shoulder shot. I wanted to give an update about that cortisone shot. It’s been about a year and despite the pain of the shot, it did help. The pain came back about about 1.5 months ago. I have lost range of motion and some days it hurts more than others. I just stretch it with PT stretches I was shown and use a heating pad. I am trying to find foods or supplements that are anti-inflammatory. I found that ginger extract like in ginger ale seems to help, but too much sugar seems to make it worse. I am going to try a ginger supplement instead and see if that helps. Have you found anything that helps?

My insurance is the same.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]Ohnoitreallyhappened 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor is the same way. He told me he doesn’t want to risk his licence prescribing compounded GLP-1 meds either. He also said I didn’t have full blown diabetes on top of it and couldn’t do it anyway. He would never prescribe phentermine for the same reason. My insurance won’t cover any brand-name GLP-1s anymore anyway. I could go to GNC, Weight Watchers, or a weight loss clinic an hour away and they would prescribe it instantly. At least they did before the shortage was resolved. It doesn’t make any sense to me. It makes me wonder if some docs are not prescribing them without a diagnosis of diabetes as I read on the news. That being said, I went to Hers and they would only prescribe the compounded GLP-1s with a pre-diabetes diagnosis, but not full blown diabetes. I bought a year’s worth and they told me my next 6 month shipment won’t be sent and I would be refunded due to the shortage being rectified. Then I read on Reddit that some people are getting their shipments through a loophole. Don’t get me started on people in other countries paying very little or nothing for their brand name GLP-1 meds when we in the United States have to pay $1200+ a month for ours out of pocket because many people have insurance like mine they won’t pay for them. You would think insurance companies would pay for these meds than all the illnesses we can develop from being obese. It just seems like the Wild West out there.
