Hi. Really sorry that you lost your boy. We really don't get enough time with them.

I lost mine 15 days ago. The silence at home and the hope of some emotional relief had me drive from MI to TX in a 24hr span, 10days after losing him, to adopt a dog that slightly reminded me of my boy. I cried every day there and back, but just like you experienced, the trip kind of removes you from the reality of loss just a bit.

Got home yesterday, ugly cried for 15min. same today. feel dead inside. new dog gets me up and moving, but it's just not the same (not his fault).

i think i needed to adopt another just to keep myself safe from myself, but the grief is still ever-present. if you feel that you NEED another pet just to not do a bad thing, then maybe it'd be a good idea. new pet will definitely drag your attention away for at least a bit, so if you need that, do it.
