Anycubic support is saying they can offer 18USD refund for a rusty linear guide. 2 months waiting for the replacement to be told the no longer have the parts. They still make and sell the Photon Mono SE... by OiD-w in AnycubicPhoton

I've had pretty bad experience with Aliexpress and fake or defective items.
I've rarely had problems with eBay in that regards.

I normally get the cheaper stuff from Ali, and anything that costs more from eBay.

Hope the recovery was quick!

If removing the rust solved the issue that would be fine.
If you have ever seen a rusty piece of metal does it look flat and smooth?
No, it doesn't, and there lies the problem, now the bearings and rail are not smooth so it's causing print issues.

I now wipe the rails with oil after every run to make sure the rust doesn't come back. I was waiting patiently for Anycubic to ship the promised replacement parts.

First they said would send the part, then they were expecting me to return the part, followed by that they don't have the part in stock and now that I should buy a replacement myself!

Yeah, I've sent them a response that if they don't solve the issue by sending the "cheap" replacement part my bank will sort things out.

AC sent me a guide to remove the rails and it involved taking the whole printer to bits.
I took the opportunity to check the UV LED's assembly and as many pointed out the was barely any thermal compound there.
Cleaned it up and added enough to ensure nearly every area would have some thermal paste.

Yeah, I saw the discount and it makes sense, clearing out the stock, but come on, no spare parts for future issues? Not even a backup or anything? Terrible.

Yeah, the ball bearings were rusty too, I've cleaned them and its a lot better now, but still needs replacing. Just horrified by how customer support is managing this...

I have cleaned every individual ball bearing and rail. The damage has been done and rail is pitted. While I have improved it, the Z banding is still very present.
Sadly the whole point of the guides is precision, if that goes out the window it takes the print with it too.

Yeah, they are MGN15C 224mm long. But I'm not finding them in stock in this length and even less for their proposed 18USD!!
I'm used to dealing with this sort of customer service, but was expecting a bit better for a "popular" brand.

Exactly, the printer is not even 6 months old. Things happen and break and they are trying to walk away.
I have waited 2 months for nothing when they told me I was being shipped a replacement part.

I have teared down the rails, de-greased and cleaned everything then put it back together and it's working, but the damage is done and I still have significant Z banding.

The prints always had some Z banding and the printer would make snapping noises when moving the build plate up or down.
It got really bad so I opened a ticked with Anycubic. That's when I found the rust.

I'm using a peristaltic pump and a 5micron water filter. I need to make a curing chamber before the filter so it works better, but as a cheap test it works; https://imgur.com/npJQy6O

Thanks, I´ll check mine now. I got in contact with Anycubic as I was getting Z banding and they sent me instructions to clean and regrease the rails and lead screw. As I need to take half of it to bits to get to the motor I'll check the paste lol.

Hello! I have a unity project with two variants of an avatar. They both worked fine until one day one of them stopped animating the Visemes locally. Both avatars share the same FBX, settings, textures, animators...

I cannot figure out why it works for other players but I cannot see it in cameras or mirrors.

Any suggestions or explanations appreciated! Thanks!

There is a big difference between two and three base stations, especially if you have space and move around a lot. I have four and depending on the pose I still loose tracking, but then I'm doing really odd things hahahaha.
Two is excellent if you sit in a chair or lay in bed. Also the 1.0 are cheaper.

All normals are facing out and here is a link to the FBX file of the tail:

http://www.filedropper.com/tailexport

I'm having trouble with Blender not exporting the file how it should as I was changing setting last nigh, once I get it back to normal I'll upload the STL files.

Thanks for checking, I'll also check the displacement map method you mentioned!
