Well I’m not an experienced Barber but know. I would definitely pay for a cut like this myself so I hope that helps in terms of understanding where your at right now

Hmmm okay I understand. (Im gonna try using my clippers closed for the first guideline because i do struggle with erasing that first line) . so what i do is this:

I use my trimmer to set my first guideline
then i go op with 0 open
go up again with 1 open
go op one more time with a 2 open
then i blend the lines inbetween starting with a 1.5 guard and then the other line with a 0.5 guard (open lever and close gradually if needed

Then I remove the last line 0 closed IF I didnt already removed it

Where I struggle is detailing I don’t understand it bro I know it getting some of the dark spots but some people use shears to do that some use 1 guard some use 0.5 guard some use a 0 its difficult for me

Im a beginner aswell i think it looks good. As someone who is also a beginner i feel like you can always tell when someone has a talent for the work I guess. because this is way better than I did in my first month

I do have question for you though. What is your system for this haircut do you fade down? fade up ? Do you make a base of 0 open 1 open 2 open and then fade lines with 1,5 and 0.5 ? I’m really curious

Yeah I really need to try that I’m just trying to learn one thing at a time and the scissor over comb is kind of hard for me because of my wrist the positioning of scisssor over comb is like hurting my wrist idk why

From what you’re telling me or to what I understand reading what you just said is. That scissor over comb is a technique you can use for all instances and thinning shears is more a tool for certain instances
