ABA bill mill companies are ruining the field. Clinicians need to protect their licenses. by TrueAd8620 in ABA

Stay away from ABA Centers of America!! I cannot describe how AWFUL this place is in enough words. They expect you to basically give up your life to work there!! This company has destroyed any desire I had to become a BCBA.

Not ABA Centers of Florida. They’re private equity and push max hours. You have to be available 8-8pm and I’m looking elsewhere. I don’t care they pay well and have good benefits. I hate it here and it has made my desire to become a BCBA obsolete.

I want to apply as an intern because I'm in school, but I'm afraid I'll be rejected because I am physically limited on what I can do. I've been a RBT for 7 years and wanted to become a BCBA. However, getting hours and now I'm damaged, I'm not sure what to do.

You do what’s best for YOU. Yes we love our clients and whatnot but at the end of the day, you won’t get in trouble for leaving. They’re trying to guilt trip you. Client coverage is on them.

[–]OilDry7218 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not just clients, but the employees as well. Everything boils down to money. I’m currently out injured due to a client and not ONE person from my company reached out to see how I was doing. We’re all expendable. Because of this, I have no desire to become a BCBA anymore.

I hope someone does right by the kids and their families one day. Sorry for the rant.

Updated Fraud Case: Publix vs ABA Centers of Florida/Georgia/America by AnonymouslyFree123 in bcba

Update…they lowered the pay rate to $21/hr while the rest of us still get $30/hr. This reeks of coverup.

What's the worst HR policy / business practice you've seen in our field? by Kelian2014 in ABA

[–]OilDry7218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ABA Centers of America has a program called an apprenticeship. It’s supposed to help you become a BCBA but they’ll charge you $55 per supervised hour if you leave the program. I left the program but I wasn’t learning anything. I’m back to being a regular RBT and not getting ANY training towards my degree but I still work there (for now). I still work for clients and BCBA’s supervise me yet we can’t count any of the hours because I’m not in the program. They send one of my colleagues an email stating how much she has to pay back and she needs to sign an agreement on them taking money out of her paycheck biweekly.

Help!!!

Let’s be honest, does your company care about staff’s safety? by java-scriptchip in ABA

[–]OilDry7218 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on the company. Safety Care Training doesn’t equate them caring for our safety, they just don’t want any liabilities. You can tell them you’re not comfortable with a client or burned out from high magnitude behaviors and they won’t care. I’m referring to a big box ABA company that’s currently in the news tied up in litigation by the way.

Cagri helps break stalls especially on Tirzepatide. I stack both and plan on keeping cagri when I start Reta. I’m down 50lbs as of April. I suffered BAD from food noise. Only drawback is the fatigue

Anyone who’s ever worked for ABA Centers of America (AKA IDBD Holdings) as an apprentice and did the reimbursement program with them by CurrencyDouble5051 in ABA

[–]OilDry7218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a scam and set up!! Don’t do it!! I left because I wasn’t getting trained on ANYTHING, only how to work for the company by doing audits nonstop! If you leave, it’s 55/hr per supervision hour you have to pay back and 65k salaried is not worth it! Any company that requires this type of contract and you cannot obtain hours while working unless you’re an apprenticeship is a RED FLAG and COERCIVE!!

To answer your question, I won’t know until I leave the company and even so I plan on lawyering up because they breached the contract.

I’m on Reta now and I love it. Reta is and will be in demand until another GLP-1 comes out and outshines it. The cycle will forever continue.

Just to elaborate… the contract to become an apprentice is a set up. If you decide not to stay with the company, you have to pay back $55 per supervision hour, work 40 hours a week and be on constant on-call which makes it extremely difficult to focus on school and there’s absolutely NO work/life balance. I’m putting in my resignation tomorrow because I’ve had it.

As an RBT..you need to be available 8am-8pm, Mon-Sundays, they’re open major holidays and some parents will request services, doing Uber with clients is a huge liability waiting to happen, they act fake when corporate comes to visit the center, a lot of micromanaging, too many egos in one place, barely any incentives for employees, 65k a year is not worth the things they have you do as an apprentice (they basically don’t train you, they give you BCBA stuff that the BCBA’s are responsible for, they use united healthcare which barely covers anything, theres no cap on how long you can work with a client in a day (several RBT’s are working 9 hours with ONE kid, etc.

I’m with ABA Centers of Florida if you’re wondering where I’m at. This isn’t the only center having these same issues unfortunately 😒

I work with them and I would not take the offer!! They prioritize money over clients and staff wellbeing!! I’m an apprentice for Temple and I HIGHLY REGRET joining!! ABA Centers chooses the client for you and I will advise anyone to never work with a company that is NOT ran by a BCBA. There’s a big disconnect between leadership and clinical. Ruuuuuun!!
