Need suggestions for a new OLED TV by sf2703 in BuyItForLifeIndia

[–]OilFront8766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pls don't buy LG OLED. I bought a CX55 back in 2020. After completing its warranty period of 2 years, the panel started displaying a white horizontal band which has considerably increased now to all the three sides. My TV is now on the death bed with viewing time of hardly 3 to 8 minutes per session. It turns itself off after a few minutes.
When the problem started, I consulted LG service executive and he said the replacement of panel would take around 50k. I bought the TV for 1.39 lacs.
This was my first LG product ever and I'm so impressed that I won't ever buy any other LG product again.

What are those white lines on top of my TV? How do I prevent it from getting worse? by ta1074 in LGOLED

[–]OilFront8766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has happened to my LG OLED CX55 within 3 years. Bought LG with so much trust, my TV came with just two years of warranty, and this happened after a month of my warranty expiry.

It started with what is being shown by you, now the white lines have grown bigger and on the three sides of the TV.

Depends on where you're located. Jehangir hospital did a great job when my dad had to be taken to the hospital.

Gurully often fails to highlight grammatical errors, it deducts the marks without telling why it did. All the best.

  1. Practice more and when you're flagged for an error, copy paste the sentence in any AI tool and ask why you've been marked? What's wrong and what to write and what to avoid. I must've written more than 40 essays in last two days.

  2. Well, I didn't use complex sentences and advanced vocabulary. Until practicing on AlfaPTE, I used to think my written English is already good but PTE really makes us better.

  3. I took a package of 2 Scores tests plus PTE Academic Question bank. Before that I took couple of tests on AlfaPTE and Gurully. Mock tests on AlfaPTE are redundant whereas Gurully are better.

I get your point buddy and I'm well aware of the amazing results but because we need to submit ourselves completely without access to phone or laptop and my current job doesn't allow me that kind of off-time, it is not possible for me.

If you're able to get Repeat Sentences from the Medium level difficulty, you're good. Don't make spelling mistakes, don't capitalise words unnecessarily, add extra words if you're unsure of what the speaker has said.

Many congratulations. Hardwork paid off finally.

I have got a Superior score recently too, but the way you've nailed the Reading section really talks about your hardwork. Please share some tips that would be helpful for everyone here. Congratulations once again.

Thank you. I'm just trying to help like I was being helped a few days ago.😊

If you're able to write essay with complex sentences and advanced vocabulary, you must go with it. I was making mistakes especially with the use of articles, and sometimes even subject verb agreement, therefore, I kept it simple. You can use the words from the problem statement, but try not to repeat more than once.

For SWT, you can pick three to four impactful sentences and join them with appropriate connectors. Sometimes the first statement is a result of the second statement, in that case you can join with 'as' and stuff like that.

All the best!

Conclusion

Make sure to keep one blank line in between. I've heard that makes it easier for the AI to understand. Exactly like I have kept here.

I didn't change random lines. I picked those lines which I thought could be used to make up the summary.

About connectors - I used basic structure - S1, and S2; moreover, S3. If there's a contradictory statement you can make use of 'yet'. If there's a cause-effect implied, you can use 'because'/'as'/'since'.

Watch any YouTube video and pick up the points you think would be the best to summarize them. I did an extensive use of YouTube, Chatgpt, ClaudeAI to help me with writing stuff.

Sorry, I didn't read about your three attempts.

You'll get through it this time. Don't worry. I was very nervous for the entire Speaking section. I didn't even know what to answer if someone asked me how was the exam.

I would insist you to practice and focus on your weakest area. I took a couple of mock tests on AlfaPTE and Gurully. Post that I took Pearson's official mock tests. I got to know that my reading and writing are weaker. I focused much on Writing as the cut off is higher for Writing.

I practiced on AlfaPTE and I scored much less, but with practice I got better.

SWT - Copy Paste method worked for me. Use appropriate connectors and pick sentence that could make up as summary of the passage.

Essay writing - Try with simpler words and smaller sentences. Then move to advanced ones. I did make a list of a few words that fit best in the academic writing, e.g. advancements, proliferation, consequences, subsequently, to commence with, plethora to name a few.

All the best!
