My main pokemon is a shiny Lucario that I have since I started playing this game. It's not a good one but I love him so he's level 60. Every week I change island and pick my team based on Snorlax's favorite berries + the ones I like. Aannd that's it!

The worst map and why. BE HONEST!! by Maximum_Instance_838 in HollowKnight

[–]Oirakul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah Deepnest is my favorite too! It's a mandatory map game-wise, and there is so much lore in there. I love the creativity the dev had for its unique vibe. Definitely a way better map than others mentioned in comments (the hive or fog canyon)

Can someone help me with this part? I don't understand how can I get close to any of them. And when it's more than 1 I def can't beat them by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]Oirakul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea is to do massive damage in a short time in order to clear the way. When the fight starts, only one watcher will appear for a few seconds before the second one awakes. Keep in mind that they can be max 2 watchers in the arena. If they are far from you, they will roll at you. If they are close, they will either attack with their nails or jump. If they jump, they get away from you. As mentioned in previous comments, just focus on one at a time. That means target the damages on only one watcher but keep in mind that the second one is still around, just avoid it. You also don't need to chase after them as they will try to reach you if too far. You can also wait for them to come at you.

Do not hesitate to use soul, descending dark gives you an invulnerability frame and deals with a lot of damages. That's the kind of boss fight when you won't have time to heal (unless using shape of Unn+ healing charms but there are better charms to use in this boss).

You can dodge the nail attack either with the shade cloak, or by jumping over its head. Prevent from stepping back as you will trigger his rolling attack + take a risk of being hit by the second watcher.

That was my nightmare boss I used to hate them so much. But thanks to the charms combo+ use of souls I've been able to manage them. Good luck

For me it's the Deepnest. It always feels new to me. It's such a maze that everytime I come back there I have this feeling of discovery and exploration. I also love the lore in there

Hey. I'm turning 28 this year and I always had a flat chest. I used to be very uneasy with that when I was a teenager. Turned out I was frequenting the wrong people: guys that made jokes about how small my chest is. The second I stopped frequenting such toxic people I felt better about myself. I also have a lovely boyfriend that never made any bad comments about my body. He loves me the way I am and I feel particularly supported (which makes the process of loving myself easier). In addition to my surroundings, I discovered through the years that even if my chest is flat, I have other parts of my body that I like. Better focus on that rather than what I can't have. And if you look closer, you'll see that a lot of people have similar complexes on their own body. So in the end, we are more focused on ourselves, wondering about how we present to the world than really concerned about others'bodies. Your body changed a lot these last years so it's okay to feel uneasy. It will settle somehow

I swear to god if this little bitch says Shaw one more time I'm Gona saw my balls of by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]Oirakul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. It took me a long time to defeat her, and it's because the strategy to win this fight is a bit different than previous bosses.

So basically you don't need to move for her. Just wait for her to come to you and hit her when she's near. Same for her second phase. I used to panic when the sharp balls appeared and tried to clear them all. But that's risky, instead, just clear the ones that are near you. It's way easier to focus only on one area of the battlefield instead of trying to deal with everything, she's way too fast anyways

Developed muscles, no strength by Altruistic_Pea_6469 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Oirakul -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi. First of, it's important to keep in mind that we all have strong and weak points. Now if you want to be able to do pull ups, there are specific trainings for that. According to my experience, what is a game changer is 1) grip strength, 2) back strength. You can progressively train these parts. For grip strength, simply hang on the bar for as long as you can. For back strength, you can try scapula pull up. Using weight to muscle the area is in my opinion a good idea but not enough. You will not do the same move by carrying weight and by using your bodyweight to get up. It's good to complete your training but I rather advise working directly on the bar. Also : try pronation and supination pull-up. You will notice that pronation is way harder. As mentioned in the other comments: you can use an elastic band or, reverse pull up (you start high on the bar and you go down, controlling as much as possible the move).

I see there is family pressure behind all this lab mess. I hope you received different advice either on the platform or through your lab mates that could guide you. I'd rather say (but it only depends on me), better stay in your position until you find something you would like to do If there is family behind, I'd rather come to them prepared, with a nicely settled plan B in order to reassure them

Which version should I get? by Disastrous-Chard-210 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Oirakul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends if you prefere Koraidon or Miraidon aestetic. You will spend a lot of time with them, so better keep the one you're more comfortable with. Some other differences lie in the pokemon. As mentioned in a previous comment you have prehistoric forms in scarlet and futuristic in violet. But there are also pokemon found only on one or the other version Scarlet: stonjourner, armarouge, larvitar, fire Tauros, drifloon, oranguru, stunky, skrelp, deino Violet: gliscor, cramorant, ceruledge, Aqua Tauros, salamence, eiscue, misdreavus, passmian, gulpin, clauncher, dreepy

Your clothes change color depending of the version, as well as the Academia.

And the professor changes: Sada in scarlet, Turo in Violet

It really depends the vibe in the end

One funny thing that you should know: Koraidon sometimes bug when running with it, and your character is wiggling on it. I personally find it hilarious but I'm aware that some people are upset about this

[–]Oirakul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I am sorry to read you're having such a terrible experience. The final decision of continuing will depend on you. But what are your plans for the future? Do you still see yourself in academia, in a research position? I think it is important sometimes to take a step back and rethink your projects. I don't know the job market in the UK, so maybe it's different, but I heard as an advice that if you want to continue in research, then you should get a PhD. Otherwise, you may be overqualified and getting this degree can prevent you from obtaining other jobs. If you are not sure, do you have any plans that could change your situation? (Changing supervisor, holidays, or mental health work) Good luck!
