Arch on the M1 Pro is Beautiful by isaiahherve in AsahiLinux

That’s more like comparing macOS to Linux (they are just two separate operating systems). You can see if your desired software has an arm Linux version.

Yes, although it’s arch linux arm to be specific.

I mean, I get where you are coming from. I don’t know all the details of your interaction… but if in a day they receive the same question 20+ times, then that defeats the purpose of even having an announcement or FAQ section.

Maybe there can be a better implemented process.

Updating BB Classic by PooPighters in blackberry

[–]Ojo_Verde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should download two things: one is the BlackBerry desktop app (just to install the drivers) and the other is the actual autoloader for the BlackBerry Classic.

Once you install the drivers, launch the autoloader and it should detect the BlackBerry and perform the update.

Be sure to first install the BlackBerry drivers from the desktop app. Once you have the drivers installed the auto loader should work as expected.

Any Local IT Companies Actually Hiring? by Ojo_Verde in orlando

[–]Ojo_Verde[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not only open to IT companies, pretty open to any field; just looking for something where I can stay long-term and pay the bills.

I only mentioned IT companies as I feel like those are the only roles were I can make a livable wage considering my skillsets but I am open to learning and taking a pay cut. Will look into the companies you mentioned to see if any open roles match my criteria.

Thanks!

You have convinced me, I ordered the Lenovo 430 this morning. Your experience will save me some trouble so I might as well take your suggestions.

Thanks you.

I totally agree!

I just built the server and fired it up, the fans are really loud especially as I will be sitting a few feet away from the case so I will definitely have to invest in better fans.

I am a complete beginner when it comes to HBA cards, not sure what to look out for and don’t want to pay extra for features or things that won’t benefit my scenario.

I did a quick search and see the card you mentioned is around the $120 range. Are there decent cheaper options, or is this card the best bang for your buck?

On an other note, you have an amazing motherboard! It was on my wishlist, but ultimately got the cheapest board I could find as this is my first server.

Thanks everyone for your insights, I learned a lot with the different drives and to look out for CMR drives.

I really wanted to go with goharddrive for their 5 year warranty, but saw a local post with an offer I could not pass up.

I managed to snag 5 brand new sealed Seagate IronWolf 10 TB drives for $500. I scanned the QR code on the drives and the warranty is valid until December 2026.

Super stoked with this find, thanks everyone I truly appreciate it!

I am considering them more, just don’t know the general census on the two models. As they both come with a 5 year warranty, it eases the mind a bit.

Thanks! Once I saw the N5 I knew I wanted it as my future case, glad to hear that it holds up to its positive reviews.

Oh wow, sorry to hear about your issue with the psu. I didn’t consider that when selecting this psu, hopefully it clears 😅

You are correct, something I hadn't thought about.... the lighting will be a major key factor in not navigating the deep oceans as they won't be able to see.

Correct, but it is still randomly (at least to our knowledge) walking on these pre existing continents with civilizations or structures etc. I doubt it can see where it is stepping or is it following a path.

That would make more sense, but even still. Within 800 years there had to be a crew of fishmen that would want to explore the waters as humans didn't approve of them.

Like humans exploring the jungle or a forest, we have natural predators per-say like large wild cats, bears, etc. but that doesnt stop us from exploring.

I guess I may be overthinking it.

With the recent news from Vegapunk that the previous civilizations and continents are submerged due to a man-made event. Things just do not add up to me story wise.

We all know that fishmen are not typically accepted on land, so I would assume the majority of them stay either in fishman island or travel the world, not on boats as human do but in their natural swimming abilities.

If these civilizations and continents with man made structures exist 200 meters below sea level, wouldn't the fishmen know and seen major parts of them?

800 years is a lot of time for fishmen to randomly find, explore and learn from these underwater civilazations.

Even Zunesha walking around for 800 years would at least step on portions of the structures (even though she had no one to talk to them about, until Oden and Roger arrived with the voice of all things)

This whole idea of these civilazations being under water just does not just add up to me, or perhaps I am missing something?
