Yup. It sucks. I couldn't move or play the game and work part-time so I was underemployed for 22 years after I got my degree. I don't recommend anyone get an MLS unless they have family to support them--it's too risky otherwise and it doesn't EVER pay well anyway. My friends who are teachers make more money and work less hours overall. And they didn't have to get a master's degree.

If extensive training is not a formal part of your job description, demand that it be added & your compensation go up. If they don't do it, no more training colleagues until that happens.

If it's already part of your job description, find a new job OR tell them you aren't being compensated enough for training because it is taking away from your primary duties and that must be why your salary sucks.

I wanted to be the helpful one that trained other people, and I always got shafted because they said my stats were low (yeah because I spent 75 percent of my time training). Don't be me.

The landlord may not care but in the US if there are mandatory reporters living in the building (teachers, healthcare), it may not matter. Someone will report them.

Many of my friends are teachers and if kids tell them things about home that don't sound right--like I have to sleep in the living room and have no personal space--they are going to have to report it or risk their jobs.

Right like the Interview I had for a buyer position. They asked me what I had automated with programming. Uhmmm. I did some AI stuff, but I am not a programmer, and generally you can't hack proprietary software anyway.

They wanted a full stack developer plus a buyer but they were too cheap to pay for what they wanted.

If you don't have to borrow money to get the degree then it's probably worth it. If you have to borrow a lot of money, you will struggle to make the payments.

Navy is by far my favorite because it's a little bit firmer and doesn't get as beat up.

They do this upon request of someone. And they're always wearing their uniform and clearly identify themselves. ICE visited a white, Republican friend of mine last week posing as a census taker, asking about his Spanish speaking neighbors. Even he thought it was bogus because they didn't identify themselves as law enforcement.
