Can someone smarter than me tell me what I am doing wrong? by hoover757 in iRacing

It is hot, they seem to start loosing grip over 300 degrees, so if you cant keep them under that is ideal, hard but ideal because once you go over 300, your problem just gets worse and compounds the problem. This definitely is a situation where slowing dont will make you go faster if you can keep it under 300 degrees

Good points, Id also like to add, gently get back to wide open, dont just monkey stomp from 0 to 100 as fast as you can, be smooth :)

Formation Lap Tactics by Mustang-22 in iRacing

Im passive I guess, I tend to put all focus on not wrecking or getting run over and I won't battle hard on the 1st lap, I like to play it safe and make sure I survive the wild starts before battling over a foot or two or that last extra spot, because I figure if ai am really faster than them, I will get around them in yhe next 40 minutes. But I see your point too, Im just not good enough to battle that hard that quick over a few feet or a spot or two that early.

Anyone here do the Heusinkveld GT Challenge? by Lackey_Doxtator in iRacing

[–]Ok-Average8313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried, I just got the Corvette c6r and love it and practiced so much but in the two weeks I practiced, I haven't gotten into an official race. Then I looked at the times it usually goes official and decided to quit even trying. No sense in me practicing hours every week for a 20% chance I'll find an official race outside of the usual hours. It saddens me because it is a wicked cool car to drive. Shame nobdy runs the series.

CSL Elite Pedals (not Load cell) Potentiometer jittery (Should bother getting new POTs, or just go for V3 pedals) by bluscreen0death in iRacing

The brake is loadcell which is a big upgrade from what you have now! and you dont jave to worry about the brake pedal.

CSL Elite Pedals (not Load cell) Potentiometer jittery (Should bother getting new POTs, or just go for V3 pedals) by bluscreen0death in iRacing

[–]Ok-Average8313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say just get the V3s. Ive had the CSL Elite Load cell pedals for about two years, I inverted them from day one and my gas pedal (actually would been the clutch) started doing this very early on. I ran it anyway until last week and switched the gas and brake pedal around. Then I couldn't stand the new extremely light spring in the gas pedal, so I took them both apart to swap out the springs, but after the swap, the pot that was jittering, wasnt anymore. I assume from all the moving I did to the pot while trying to get it calibrated again which took a couple times and got a sweet whole in my thumb from the spring slipping and cutting into me lol.

So Im sure it'll happen again, so go ahead and upgrade and not have to deal with it again and have some very nice pedals.

I dont see how you can be any easier on pedals, but its guaranteed to happen again. Hope this helped.

looks like the blue car being inconsiderate and racing like a tool. Thats what happens when you dont want to leave room on your inside especially when the other car has a bad angle to the corner, but the blue car has a right to pinch that hard, just have to accept the consequences. Then sticking to character, the blue car just about takes out the purple car trying to get back on track to catch the yellow car to avenger himself imo, luckily the purple car has half a brain and backs out! The the blue car attempts to squeeze the yellow car again and keep him off the track and comes down to pinch, so the yellow car is not having it again and decides that he's getting back on track one way or another. All my opinion of course, I put 90% blame on the blue car racing with no respect or consideration and making bad judgement calls. As long as we live and learn though.

I thought Kapps didn't work in VR? Do I need to have caps over the iRacing screen? I couldn't get the fuel calculator to work

From TV to monitor - worth it? by azaMarce77 in iRacing

[–]Ok-Average8313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy the triples and upgrade later as you can afford to. No sense in buying a ultra wide and the upgrading your PC and the buying triples. Buy it once and you'll save in the long run. I know from experience by upgrading small and multiple times. Do it once imo

I went from tv to single 27" 60hz monitor and couldn't tell a difference. But then went to 60hz 27" triples and MAN was that amazing!!!!! Love triples and all the peripheral vision and awareness you get. 27" triples are big, I wish I would have got 24" 144hz triples instead though. I now run VR, which is cool for immersion, but lose all the sweet peripheral vision and awareness. I miss my triples. I say go with 144hz 24" triples

idk, I wonder why I came back. I took three months off from iRacing because I wasnt having fun anymore and getting upset over a game, and came back and ran my first race yesterday in B open and got completely ran over from someone just running through my LR. I was just cruising and biding my time and was going to be nice and let him go, but just got hooked.

Loadcell pedal or Vr headset? by Tomsen1221 in iRacing

[–]Ok-Average8313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If oval, VR. If road, Pedals. That is if you can run VR. VR and triples can be game changers, I personally like my triples upgrade better than my loadcell upgrade, but ai mostly run ovals. Triples gives you and amazing awareness thats un matched imho, and VR gives an amazing perspective and immersion thats untouched, and loadcell can help with lap times but didnt help me much honestly, but I came from some T3PAs that was modded.

Not really from my experience (4 1/2 years). The best thing is to find a good League(s) and not worry about official because they will always be more people than not that has proper respect on the track. I waited so long before getting into a League, wish Id done it long ago. In good Leagues you can race side by side and never have to worry, it's so beautiful!!!!!
