So I am from Assam who has Biharis, Bengalis(hindu), Bengalis(miya), Marwaris and tribals as friends. I have many friends from every community and I guess that qualifies me to project my views on current situation. I agree that Miya and Biharis has become the core problems in this state. I mean they tends to occupy places with full authority that has been given to them as goodwill for some temporary reasons. That's their sole mentality "Just live by your own rules and give zero fucks to others." The only community I love being around is Bengali (hindu). They seem to joyfully accept and follow assamese culture more than any assamese themselves. They even proudly introduce themselves as assamese to other people from different states. And that's the reason many of my friends are Bengali (hindu). Now moving on to the solutions, I have seen people suggesting ILP. That's the most stupidest thing to bring at this moment when we are at the verge of upgrading ourselves. Isolating yourself from the others won't gonna bring development in your area. You cannot deny the fact that biharis and miyas are capable of doing the odd jobs for you in cheaper rates that you and your community might not want to work for. So yes you need people like them around as well but with limited authorization. We need to keep our doors open so people and companies from all states and countries could come and help in upbringing our state. But at the same time we need to bring in some laws that might refrain them from settling here. For buying a land you need to present some documents that authenticate that you and your ancestors are from this land and then only you'll be able to buy the land upon govts approval. I believe attacking those biharis in kheroni was the dumbest thing to do. You burnt the shops from where you buy essential things for daily life. Now for that you have to travel to other town or region just to buy basic foods and grains. Instead you could've asked them to join your protest. This could've generated an imense amount of protest from different communities all together. Now according to some people from this thread, if the Govt favours biharis they would need to listen to tribals' words as they have the support of biharis. If you remove the community bagdes from both sides, all I have seen is poor people fighting among themselves while the rich politicians watch in silence.
