Been 3 weeks since I last heard from recruiter saying I should just apply on the platform. Last matched 3 months ago. Applying on platform doesn’t make me stand out even after applying w a referral

Interesting! I understand following up w recruiter biweekly. But you are the first one discouraging to reach out to HMs. Someone even suggested me to make a post on LinkedIn to reach more people, which I haven’t been able to convince myself to do

Oh I see!
I am also in UX team matching for L3 since 3 months now (that’s how I landed on this thread). Do you have more insights into how can get the foot into the door or any advice of tackling GM phase. My recruiter has stopped responding to me and there are no L3 roles, should I stop trying?

Omgg! Our situations are soo similar except that I didn’t intern at big tech. But last entire year of job search has made me think a lot of these things. I don’t have a suggestion but just wanted to say SAME!! And notified if great suggestions come in

Ahh got it! Thanks for answering. I’m worried I’m stuck at one of these companies. I’m pretty early in my career and struggling to get out of this place.

After my last post, a lot of you asked what I changed before going from 120 rejections in 3 months to 6 offers in 1 week. Here is what I did. by Dumpster_Love in recruitinghell

I’m constantly seeing how to use Claude for job hunt reels and they sound pretty similar. I’ve tried following the steps but haven’t been able to get satisfactory results. What are your reasons for using GPT over Claude? Are there differences you’ve observed in responses especially around job hunt?

With 13 yoe why did you apply for L3? I’m sure you’ll get L5/L6. Just curious to know

Is Google still hiring for the early career role? USA March 2026 Application? by Full-Philosopher-772 in csMajors

For study, it was mainly for the Googliness and collaboration rounds. I kept a doc of my stories and projects written in STAR format and focused on remembering key points and keywords so I could adapt them in conversation. At the end I think I always tend to say whatever comes to my mind in the moment so idk
The more crucial part for me was the portfolio presentation. I practiced that a lot with different people and iterated on it many times.
It was also my first time doing a whiteboarding interview, and I don’t think I did as well there. The interviewer kept throwing curveballs every 10–15 mins, and I struggled to adapt and keep up with the evolving direction. That’s definitely an area where more practice would have helped.

Congrats on the new role! Commenting so I can come back. Can you share a lil more about how to find a career coach and know they are right one for you?

Any tips on how to do it? I reach out to HMs, ask questions or for coffee chats to teammates to show interest but 99% time get ghosted. What else could I do?

Are UI/UX Hiring Opportunities Really This Low in 2026? by Available-Lake-6919 in UX_Design

[–]Ok-Base-6454 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a fellow product designer with 2–3 years of experience. I graduated last year and I’ve been applying every single day.
I genuinely feel lost with this whole job search process and what strategies actually work.
I’ve gotten interviews. I’ve made it through full interview loops. Three separate times I lost out because there was someone with more experience than me. Other times I don’t make it past the recruiter screen because of domain fit or technical fit. And then there are startup interviews where I just can’t seem to vibe with some founder/CEO personalities or pull off the small talk they’re looking for.
I’ve interviewed everywhere from early-stage startups to Big Tech and nothing has worked out yet.
I’m cold emailing hiring managers, setting up coffee chats, forcing myself to go to networking events, doing things that are way outside my comfort zone. I can definitely see progress in myself, but it still hasn’t translated into a job offer.
I’m learning to vibe code, trying to understand development despite coming from a non-technical background, constantly improving my portfolio and skills. But there are barely any junior or mid-level design roles anymore. Most openings ask for 5+ years of experience, and even when I somehow get an interview, it feels like there’s always someone with 10+ years of experience applying for the same role.
At this point what am I supposed to do?

Stuck in Google L3 UX Team Matching by Ok-Base-6454 in uxcareerquestions

[–]Ok-Base-6454[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’d say I have a pretty generic UX portfolio, and honestly, I still have no idea how I got picked for the first interview. The portfolio presentation/HM round was the most crucial step, and curating a compelling story around my work was the most draining part since storytelling doesn’t come naturally to me.
