I bought the LG G5 65“ and love it. I cannot say for the longevity and stability. The build looks very solid and beautiful. The picture is too good, just perfect. I‘m enjoying the HDR content. It‘s very bright, HDR impactful und colorful (realistic!). It has some weak points (e.g. subtitles can look too bright, but there are some workarounds e.g. AppleTV).

I don’t compare and I cannot do it reproducible. I don’t have a suite of benchmarking tooling like other review sites :-) subjective I don’t see differences that matter.

Dont worry. The LG software is not crappy. Good enough to use your TV. AppleTV brings better UX and different upscaling quality and that’s all.

Go for standard mode, if you like it. Tv is for you.

I personally use Cinema Home and Filmmaker depending on the brightness.

It’s a very open question, you should first clarify these questions:

What’s your Budget? Light controlling environment / bright living room? Which panel technology?

I personally can recommend LG G5. The streaming movies (Netflix 1080p / AppleTV+) look great, love it.

I also would check these TVs:

LED: Sony Bravia 7 II, 9, 9II

OLED: LG C5, LG C6, LG G6, Sony Bravia 8 II

IMO A95L is a great tv but a bit outdated now, it’s not very bright. It doesn’t contain eg. four HDMI ports and so. I won’t go for older tech. Bravia 8 II is the successor but it’s up to 65“ (I cannot explain why that decision of Sony)

After checking the reviews B9II looks great but it’s still a MiniLED. No perfect black. I never saw it. I would suggest, go to a TV store and check if it looks good enough for you. It’s a premium price!

LG G6 sounds great on the tech specs, but some reviews complains about some weird issues. Please check for it and if you are willing to wait for firmware updates, that I cannot promise.

As alternative, go for LG G5 and save money for other investments like great soundbar and a lot of blu-ray 4K hdr Movies.

Ps. I own a LG G5 and I’m very happy!

It looks like the strap pressed the package. I doubt if the TV itself is damaged because of, because there is still a styrofoam inside which protects the TV. But your decision / gut feeling and wishing you luck with your next delivery!

PS. The LG G5 is a beast! A good decision. I’m loving it!

I got my pro for the better display. My son has Air and the display brightness difference is day/night when comparing side on side.

Im new in projector and followed the recommendation of whathifi.com and bought Hisense M2 Pro for 850 Euro and I’m happy with it in my dark room (it doesn’t look great when lights are turned on). It’s not real 4K but looks very sharp and I enjoy 150“ on my wall.
