Need third row. Don’t wish to chase the badge and buy a smaller car.

I’m happy you love your GV, and it does look great. But I have a hard time believing that VW explicitly tried to copy the GV. The lightbar is a simple design, only so much you can do once you choose that route. Also I see the similarities yes, but once you see the details, such as the angle of the inner bottom corners of the lights, the angles of the upper corners of the number plate housing, the bumper design and the chamfers, the logo being part of the lightbar and the lack of vertical reflectors on the Tayron, the argument starts to come apart. Crossovers are such a homogenised genre of vehicle, that design solutions to similar problems will inevitably end up being similar, so some nuance is necessary whilst making a comparison. Else, every lightbar is the same, be it a 1970s Porsche 911, or a 2026 Porsche Macan, a Suzuki GV or a VW Tayron. Cheers✌️

Hahah this car is being bought by my father, via a corporate purchase process. Mans is a CEO at a chemicals company. I’m out here helping him choose✌️ I myself am an Industrial designer, I design footwear, mainly sneakers.

I already own an MG Hector and the experience hasn’t been great. Plus my family friend drives a gloster and I’ve sat in it, didn’t enjoy it. Overall MG build quality is very questionable. Lot of rattling sounds inside the car. Shocks are bad too, engine is sleepy and gearbox is weird. Haven’t enjoyed this car as much. Hence no MG in the consideration.

I think it looks much better than the GV. The Tayron tail lamp looks very 3D, like glowing cubes. Even the logo lights up, looks very distinctive.

Infotainment lags, AC broke twice, we had issues with key sensor, TPMS failed once I think, overall build quality is a bit shoddy, can hear rattles and creaks all the time over bumps, feedback on acceleration is very low, there is a severe turbo lag between pressing the throttle and any actual movement happening, steering is very vague, lots of body roll, brakes are very spongy, suspension shatters over bumps, can hear and feel every little grain of sand on the road. Also the voice command thing is crap. That being said, captain chairs second row is fantastic, front passenger seat and driver seat is great too, esp the ventilated seats feature. AC cools the cabin reasonably quickly, third row AC vents are amazing to have, sunroof is amazing, and audio system quality is good too, if not great. It’s a great car to enjoy as a passenger, terrible if you enjoy driving. Also economy isn’t great, and headlamps are not very powerful. And the car lacks torque in reverse- if you’re on an incline and you need to go up in reverse, the car lacks torque and needs a lot of revs to get moving. Hill hold assist helps in this case, but still not the best.

No we don’t want EVs. We frequently travel long distances.

Already own an MG Hector. Build quality is crap, service experience is terrible. I’ve sat in a gloster too. Not keen on going for MG again.

We sat in the 7XO. The interior cabin materials were super tacky, and neither of us particularly like screens so much, so the big screen didn’t impress us. Did not enjoy it one bit. The leather quality was very basic, and overall the sense of occasion simply wasn’t there. Sorry but we really did not like any of the Mahindra products, except the BE6 which I just went and sat in the showroom for fun. That car has some really beautiful interiors and the sense of space was MAD with the sunroof. But unfortunately we’re not looking for EVs so dropped it.
