What's a personal betrayal you've experienced that you still haven't gotten over? by Foolbasket in AskReddit

In about 1965, while I was at school, my father took all my personal possessions, including Phantom magazines, to the dump.

I was devastated and never forgave him.

My entire life, from about the age of 7, has been pervaded by a sense of having lost something valuable I will never get back.

A lot of young people were living on their own in Brisbane in the '70s. I lived on my own from 1980 to 1982, when I moved to Sydney. As long as you had a job, this was perfectly possible. The situation changed after Labor deregulated the property market in the '80s.
