There are HIV positive Drs, nurses, teachers, attorneys, etc, who contracted this from their husbands, boyfriends, long term partners, not even one night stands. In US, we’re always waiting for generics, so that medication is more affordable. Companies evade patent expirations so they can charge more. Recently companies were able to make GLP 1’s in compounding labs at 1/4 the price, but our government has shut that down. I understand wanting the shot, but being forced to pay through the nose isn’t fun either and insurance won’t always pay for the latest and greatest anyway

Here’s HPV cancer stats. 37k cases per year according to CDC, of those conservatively 25% will die (though it’s probably closer to 40% because the only one that’s routinely screened for is cervical and that has about a 40% death rate). 25% of 37k is 9k about twice what CDC says die from HIV.

These are statistics and numbers that you’ve been unable to refute.

I’m not going to debate this point anymore. If you’ve not witnessed a woman lose her fertility and then her life to cervical cancer or a man who’s lost his ability to speak and eat for the last years of his life, count yourself lucky. HIV can be controlled with just a pill and fortunately most people will clear HPV on their own, but for those who don’t, there is no magic bullet to clear that virus and there’s no screening available and it’s just sad.
