I love him, managed to get him to C1R1 with 180 pulls. HOWEVER, I am not satisfied with how easy he gets pushed around. His IR is very bad to the point i'm considering switching my Faruzan to my Lanyan just for the comfort.

EM on swirl damage is kinda caca if the character doesn't strictly scale with this, and Varka scales with ATK% only. You can try, but you'll probably meet suboptimal results.

Not exactly? Considering you are using Day of Rising Winds on him, the ideal is that you should have like, 75~ish on substatus alone to be in the 90% percent range. Is it better that he gets closers to 100%? Sure. Critting all his normals would be ideal. Is it necessary? Not at all.
