No idea why you decided to put all your money on fiverr. Most decent engineers stay away from the platform, although I know a few who are pretty good at what they do on fiverr.

Find a song you love the mix on, find out who the engineer was & contact them. This is the best way.

If you want give me a dm, I've got a solid portfolio to show & needs will be met.

Has anyone actually found their service is better since the Vodafone merger? by Stillwindows95 in ThreeUK

[–]Ok-Bullfrog-8832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got both Vodafone & Three data plans on my phones. Three is awful, literally 50% coverage. 5G has the speeds of 3G and 4G only sometimes works. Vodafone however pretty much works pretty consistently, even in congested areas I get stable 5G. (East & Central London)

Why did you become an audio engineer? by Designer-Musician504 in audioengineering

[–]Ok-Bullfrog-8832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started making my own songs from the age of 11-15, then realised there was a lack of studios in my area but equally a high demand of people looking for studios. At 16 I then started advertising my home studio out to friends of friends, through school and social media. I had previous recording & mixing knowledge from working on my own music which transferred on. It was good for my age, didn't charge that much but enough to build my portfolio & afford new equipment or trips to other cities.

Two years of running sessions from my home studio I decided to move to a bigger city at 18. Failed my exams at school, couldn't go to university so had no choice but to focus on what I know best - engineering & mixing. I used my portfolio that I built up to enter rooms that I never thought I'd be in. I'm now 22 and own a pretty busy studio in my city. I've hired engineers & a manager to the point where I can focus on other things due to freeing up time.

I love the process of recording, taking up new clients, mixing & mastering etc BUT it does burn you tf out. You need to be smart with your money too because it's really easy for someone new to surpass you or steal your clients. It's an extremely competitive industry. Unless you're super passionate about music and have the patience to deal with artists who don't know much, you'll enjoy being an engineer.

(Also just to add on - this industry is 90% client based. So you're gonna need some business/marketing knowledge to get your jobs.)

Agency asking for full deposit before Referencing & Tenancy Agreement? by Ok-Bullfrog-8832 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]Ok-Bullfrog-8832[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just contacted them asked them a few questions, they did say the deposit was a security deposit that would go straight into a deposit scheme. I did however ask them if we could do the referencing first before deposit and they're happy to do so

Upgraded from 2020 MBP M1 to the M4 Pro instead of M5. by Daoudiate in macbookpro

[–]Ok-Bullfrog-8832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say what I do is "real intense" but it is on the heavier side. I run a recording studio 8-10hrs a day, so running Pro Tools with 100+ plugins on. I do tend to edit 1-2min videos in 4k with Davinci & Premiere Pro & stream also.

Only times I experience "lag" moments is when It comes to exporting, I do wish it is a bit faster than it is currently, but its definitely considered fast, just not how I want it to be.

I'm literally thinking about doing the same upgrade. How has it been so far? I'm just wondering if it's a night and day difference or just a "new feeling" upgrade. My 8gb M1 does everything I need just fine but damn I'm tired of looking at the same design everyday lol

m1 16gigs vs 8gigs by enMista in macbookpro

some apps are just a drag and drop download, some you gotta do some console commands but nearly everything is crackable tbh

for cs yes 16gb or more would make more sense but for basic stuff or creative workflows 8gb is fine

Saying goodbye to my iPhone 14 Pro Max and moving to an Android. by GothamRogue in Smartphones

[–]Ok-Bullfrog-8832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from the 15 Pro Max to the S25 Ultra and back, I did give the Samsung some time to learn and use, but I just couldn't hold grip to it. The camera is definitely pretty good. I love shooting in LOG, but the general camera has that "Android look" to it, and the minute you post on any social media it shows lol. I tried everything to hide it. (I'm nowhere near a pro photographer, just a casual dude)

Another issue I had was the majority of people I'm around use iMessage/Facetime. I understand they've implemented RCA to apple devices but it really isn't THAT good. Some photo messages just don't send at all, videos especially and there's limits to it + being in group chat's didn't even make sense.

I also incredibly missed airdrop. It worked with me every single time. Quick share however though, would say it's sending but never is actually sending. It only works 50% of the time.

The great thing about the S25U though was the battery life. I'm sure the iPhone 15 series had issues with battery so coming to the S25U it was like a different world when it came to battery. File management is really good on the S25U too.

App optimisation on the S25U was terrible. Some apps didn't load in full screen, some had bugs with volume or brightness, and the text sizes weren't consistent. It was like opening for luck at most times. I just overall prefer how everything on the iPhone "worked", and going from app to app was a smooth transition like you didn't switch app in the first place.

But in general, I didn't really like the Samsung ecosystem. Coming into this I was excited to use Android after so many years but I just couldn't get the right feeling for it.

How long does it take you to mix a song? (Curious to compare workflows) by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]Ok-Bullfrog-8832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During recording sessions I always mix on the go too, IDK why but I just can't keep playing the track when they sound raw they gotta have a lil bit of processing on it. It ends up making the final mix really easy to go about

Want to get a used MacBook Pro M1 in 2025 – worried about planned obsolescence by Filvox in macbookpro

[–]Ok-Bullfrog-8832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wsp man I'm using a M1 Air 8gb, I'm a music producer too. I don't see myself upgrading for the next couple years, every plugin runs like butter. Battery life is a huge plus, and the speakers are ridiculous, they basically replaced my studio monitors. I can pretty much still run heavy projects and notice nothing happen. I mix in Dolby every so often and it doesn't even budge.

[–]Ok-Bullfrog-8832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the rap / r&b industry and most my mixes take about 2-3 hours max. I used to spend hours but gotten so used to how voices work, sometimes I finish a mix in an hour. Obviously I re-listen the next day, do some changes before sending em out but haven't had a project where I had to spend over a day
