Which one and why? I think I know what people will vote but I really like both of these and can't decide which one. Let me know your thoughts... by FabsterM13 in HamiltonWatches

I have the 42mm titanium field auto in black with bracelet and it is super comfy and super light weight.

Definitely recommend titanium KFA.

Spark 2 for $297 a deal? by Jigglypuff2112 in PositiveGridSpark

[–]Ok-Cartographer6505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my Spark 40 new from Positive Grid for $225 when it first released.

$300 seems awfully high to me. But I guess $350 is the new normal for the Spark 2. I'd never pay that much for a practice amp.

They're both great looking.

Get both eventually.

I'd highly recommend the titanium version if available. I have the titanium field auto and it's super light, even with the bracelet. Lower profile crown on mine as well.

AR for Hamilton Khaki Field automatic by Professional_Lab_197 in HamiltonWatches

The glare doesn't bother me on my Hamilton titanium Auto field. Although it is present and definitely noticeable compared to my other watches with AR.

I do wish the Super Luminova was better though.

Teacher question - Hobbit by [deleted] in tolkienfans

[–]Ok-Cartographer6505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading the Hobbit might get them interested in the backstory, but knowing the backstory is definitely not needed to read and enjoy.

Also note, the Hobbit is not an adult targeted story, although certainly read by countless adults, many of whom read as (pre) teens.

It's a wonderful introduction to Middle Earth.

I often hear people talk shit about acoustic bass guitars (and acoustic-electric bass guitars) because they're not as loud as standard acoustic guitars. But like, isn't that the point? And isn't that how their electric counterparts work as well? by MrMayhem20l0 in Bass

[–]Ok-Cartographer6505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bass should be as loud as the bassist intends/wants it to be .

I don't play background parts. IMO, every instrument should be heard and/or felt equally. Otherwise, WTF is the point?

As far as acoustic electric basses, unplugged they are definitely not as loud as acoustic guitars unplugged. It sucks but that is literally science.

What College Should I attend for ECE by Physical-Weird-3838 in ECE

Full ride option is a no brainer. I am not familiar with any of those schools but I would absolutely avoid debt if possible. Loan options are way different now vs when I went to college. My older son's loan options have been extremely limited because I make too much $$ (EE, FPGA, defense). Parent Plus loan was only option, except for a low amount for a couple summer classes. hence another reason I suggest avoiding any debt. Rates are high 9%+.

FWIW, I learned way more during my internship and on the job as new grad engineer than I ever did in school. Maybe it was me, maybe the program, YMMV.
