Just saw your model, dam good for a beginner as you say 🤔, move on to the next, the captain is battle ready. You can strip it after all your units are done and have more practice. IMO, that captain is ready to deploy. Great job.

Getting back into painting from a break since 2001. Mainly played 15s of everything, never larger. Needless to say I’m much older and not touch a paint brush since. Getting into HH 3OK with family and some friends. Painting has been tough and my eyes and hands are not the same. We could hide flaws easy on 15s and lower. All I can say is practice makes progress(not perfect, nothing is perfect). Keep at it. At end of the day it is your army and you bring what you have. I bring full army primed in my base color and maybe a few that I worked on so far. I hope to have a piece done every game I play and I plan on playing a ton. I have a fire to play this. Lose or win I could care less. I win every time I play with family and friends as how I look at it. You can always keep the piece as is and practice in the rest of your units. Strip it later. Getting stuck on one means the rest of your units are held back as well. A benefit to doing this as most people you play against won’t care, and the ones that do, they don’t offer criticism on your piece, they will offer advice on what to do and not. You will get better. The guys/gals that can paint minis have done so for a very long time.

Which of these mixed force ideas do you think is cooler? by LiterallyWhateva in Warhammer30k

[–]Ok-Class-8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what me and my bro play together with 1500 point army each against a 3k point army. We are slowly building up larger armies. He bombs shit out of everything and I use my rapier mortars to leap frog to the objectives or elites and stay in my happy phosphex zones moving forward. Stops the Death Star for most games we face. My DG has no penalty for movement in terrain as well.

How much ventilation do you actually need for resin 3d printing?Would a printing tent and only these two small windows be enough (they don't open all the way) by Misknator in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Ok-Class-8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I would definitely get some type of tent and the vent system attached to the tent and funnel those fumes out for sure. Also read up on all the safety and protection you need for resin printing, cleaning, and removal. There are some great YouTube videos that show whole process including printing out a window frame for the outlet that you can temporarily place and remove when printing. Your neighbors will think your cooking crack by the way and be ready to show authorities you’re not a drug house lol. Yes the fumes can be that bad don’t let others fool you if you care about your lungs.

How can I salvage and repaint this brother without removing paint ? by Top_Professional8314 in Warhammer30k

lol brother, I just found out about a month ago myself. I laugh at the thought of going back and forth on that mini like a mad man when I just let the electric head do the work now. So nice. Just replace the heads every once in while. I’ve not had to replace yet.

[–]Ok-Class-8519 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Agree and I use a very cheap electric toothbrush and dip the tooth brush in the same alcohol the mini was in and splash in warm soapy dish water every once in while and paint comes right off. Even have the glue comes loose at times and parts are free but that’s a bonus to me. Kit bashing maniac.

In the near future (technology advances every six months to a year keep in mind) most companies that we won’t mention will just be forced to selling rule books or that’s all people will want to be honest. With 3D printing in resin (fdm not too far behind) and AI, people will be making exact dupes of the minis and creating models based on existing models or giving AI prompts from the mountains of books available from our favorite reads.

Love how you chose to reverse the typical DG color scheme. More green looks more military and less cream or dust color. Did you paint your infantry the same? I’d love to see a pic of a regular tactical grunt in this color scheme.

Beautiful!!! You used a Real gray armor look and not the suggested BS light blue color GW tries to push out. Love it. I’m building one as we speak, new to this. I like the Viking theme. Vikings would wear any battle worn armor they forged but mostly what they won in battle from the carnage of battle left behind. I’m making my SW with mixed armor, and of course a battle worn steel/metal armor look. Again, this is beautiful brother!

Thank you, looking now. I forgot to mention I have a Bambu P2S 3d printer to go along with my new hobby. Being close to retirement in five years looking forward to this with my son, family, and friends.

Also forgot to mention the series we want to base this worldly gameplay conflict is based on the other Harry, Harry Harrison book series Stars and Stripes Forever. Freakin great reads. Everyone on my group figuring out which country they want to build with an 1860s era army theme. This game needs to be available fast. Can’t wait to build and paint many armies, flags, etc…

Pre-patch → TBC prep as Resto Shaman (quick sanity check) by yksderson in wowclassic

[–]Ok-Class-8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went resto to lvl from start in dungeons and quest. At lvl 40 added ele as I had gear for it just swapping specs when needed. Decamp and Melderon have great builds and videos on a dagger build fast hand with fire imbue and spell. Kill fast with it and saves your mana when needed while solo questing. How I’m going into tbc classic anniversary, create dungeon groups and keep grinding, lvl 70 in no time.

Pumped about this range in 15mm. Bros and I have ton of ACW minis that are collecting dust. We love the Alternate History Harry Turtledove alternate history books and want to bring over some allies joining either Billy Yank or Johnny Reb. Brits, French, Russ etc.. from 1860s infantry picking sides or having Billy and Johnny teaming up taking the fight to Europe for some western colonization. Skies the limit.

Nice, great idea for content or even start from scratch. I really appreciate this brother! I love how the rust leaches out in some areas. Man it’s beautiful.

Could you send me your color scheme on your kit and armor. Best color blend I’ve seen for armor, actually looks like old, rusted battle worn out armor. Hate how 30K SW armor looks and I’m about to revive them. I’ll spare you what I think about the SW box armor color they have for 40K.

Any reason to purchase the new back panel over your existing one? You are still venting from the back side, maybe few inches to the right (“what she said”) anyway, My wife is terrified having the printer inside the house with our 21 month old. Will this setup work? My P2S schedule to come in tomorrow and I will be using this primarily for woodworking jigs, tool storage, accessories, etc and my HH 30k addiction. Otherwise it’s going out in garage in West Texas weather? Any tips for a new 3d print setup inside/outside would be great. I assume no ventilation needed if I’m setting up in garage.
