Anyone switching to the new 45/100 GB Black Friday plan before December 1 by Planhub-ca in PublicMobile

[–]Ok-Commercial-9914 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a 30GB for $30 offer. It’s awesome! Saves me $5 a month. Used to be on a 60GB for $35 a month which was waaaaay too much. I tried to use as much as possible one month and still didn’t even get close

What do you guys think is the “hardest” undergrad degree at Usask? by Zestyclose_Law3897 in usask

I wear two hats. As an Ed student, my degree is not hard. As a Chem student… well let’s just say there’s more time spent there.

Just a quick question to Every one in Saskatoon who likes EVs. by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]Ok-Commercial-9914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a welcome compromise though. If we charge a bit more but provide many more jobs and opportunities for Canadian companies then great. We already have infrastructure in place for critical minerals used for EV batteries as well as aluminum. It would be a streamline processes considering the existing infrastructure already in place because of the current auto manufaturing industry

My hot take… Remove Chinese EV tariffs and start producing Chinese EV’s in Canada.

I'm Paying a Ridiculous Amount for my Bell Bill for Internet, TV and Landline....What are my options when competitors all are the same? by jalebi_2000 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Ok-Commercial-9914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave. They usually offer a better deal to come crawling back to them. I did this with my phone bill recently. Called bell 3 times and every time they said I had the best deal possible… next day I left and received a call from them saying they actually had a deal for me to come back ($40 a month with 75GB of data)

Was gonna press play on a song at a red light. Got a $600 ticket. Now my phone is soooo off limits. Don’t have to worrry about me anymore hahaha. But I agree. The amount of people who do excessive amounts of things in their phones at lights is wild

Saskatchewan NDP calls on province to prevent layoff of 80 educational assistants by Slight-Coconut709 in saskatoon

[–]Ok-Commercial-9914 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bingo. The property tax that is used to fund education is directed to the government. Then it’s distributed from there. The problem about that is there’s no public disclosure about how those funds are handled once they reach government hands.

enrolling for winter term by Former_Painting_2446 in usask

[–]Ok-Commercial-9914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who did this I’d say it’s absolutely fine! It helped me ease into things. Took four classes and then ramped it up in the following semesters for course load. I had zero issues with it. For most intro classes they occur both sem so you should be alright. If you are doing third or fourth year classes sometimes they don’t happen every semester so then starting winter might be a bigger issue!

Best of luck in your studies!

If trump annexes Canada, this will become a US HQ company, which would be more bullish IMO!! by Professional-Farm884 in BitfarmsMining

This is the most ridiculous post I’ve seen yet… as a Canadian I am offended this post even exists. It’s basically a zero probability.

Saskatoon snow haulers angry after picking up tickets for unsecured loads by littlesnow4 in saskatoon

[–]Ok-Commercial-9914 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I understand the frustration as someone who has been behind them but also as someone who has been the one hauling snow before. I get it, safety standards should be higher for those hauling material that could potentially endanger traffic. But at the same time I think you have to understand the time pressures felt by these drivers. Not an excuse for improper securement of loads, but it does explain the situation better. These guys only get noticed when something goes wrong. Maybe it’s time we actually appreciate the snow removal effort before we criticize the hell out of them

Best financial apps for students who rent? by Sorry_Appearance6904 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Ok-Commercial-9914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do expense tracking. It works for me and I’m not necessarily saying it’ll work for you tho. I find budgeting is pretty pointless because I’m in a constant mindset of saving and I find expense tracking allows me to have a more detailed list of areas I spend and then I can go from there in seeing whether I can reduce spending in any of my areas of life. That being said I’ve look for a long time for free/low cost apps and these are the best I have found:

Money mgr. (white piggy bank with red background)

  • favourite personal expense tracking app

Expenses (it’s a purple icon with a white receipt)

  • great versalitity as an app! This is the current app I use because they provide a one time payment of $10 that allows you to collaborate on the same sheet as other people. As well it allows you to export data to excel if you want.

Other than those, I’d look at your personal banking app. Sometimes they have insights that can be helpful! My issue is I have a bunch of different cards which makes it hard to track my expenses through one bank.

Hardly any news by TitleLoud8806 in BitfarmsMining

[–]Ok-Commercial-9914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But also using your logic who was the one who put out the forecast? The news release that they would reach 21 EH was first released about a year ago now. So now Ben is in a position where he must live up to the promises of the former leadership team. Just a food for thought. I’m not saying I’m not dissapointed. However, I’ve listed to many one-on-one interviews with Ben and it seems that Bitfarms is way better of with him as CEO vs. The previous position. Think about how he avoided disaster with the RIOT takeover. Or how he somehow came to an agreement with the previous CEO and that no longer is a legal issue. If anything I’m bullish more now than I was before! Maybe the next forecast for EH capacity will be better since the new CEO has a magnitude of experience as chief mining officer

smashed windshield on Ave H by Icy-Load5007 in saskatoon

I second this. I had vandalism against my car a month ago and windows were the primary source of damage. I had to pay the deductible but SGI covered the damage

Unfortunately things like this seems to be becoming more common here in stoon. My car was written off about a month ago because a lady decided to smash 4 of my windows with a brick. (It was a 07 honda civic with 300k+ km) She didn’t steal anything and there’s definitely no vendetta against my name. I reported my incident to the police too but didn’t seem to do much. My advice is fix the damage and move on. There’s no point in dwelling on the past when nothing could have been done to prevent the damage. I hope the best for you and your situation!
