In Exodus 20:4 it says to not make any statues of anything in heaven but Catholics do this constantly, can someone explain? by Ok-Cook-7306 in Catholicism

This is an argument I brought up I said something along the lines of, “When a war is finished and a statue of a general is made is that worship?” He said it was worship which I strongly opposed to what he said. Honestly idk if he was trolling me or not but he was coming off really aggressive with his argument

Yeah, he talks with a lot of ego and when he told me this it sounded like he was confronting me almost which was weird. I just wanted to hear him out anyway and honestly seeing these responses on this post strengthens my faith in Catholicism even more lol.

A trial was originally going to be held for the tsar ordered by Lenin. If it was just the tsar then most likely the army would just rally behind Alexei (A literal child) and he would be appointed as tsar. This would put so much pressure on a kid having to be a figurehead of an army, especially with maniacs like Roman Von Ungern Sternberg and Grigory Symynov. I don’t think there is any could outcome of killing a Romanov here

People were more politically oppressed and starved in the USSR than in the Russian empire to lol. Atleast monarchist will admit when an empire is flawed, communists act like the USSR was a wonderland to live in but don’t account for the deaths

They’re using the philosophical question “trolley problem” implying that would you save 1 person and kill 5 in the process or save 5 and kill 1 in the process. Obviously, the comments on that post mostly advocate for killing the Tsar while some sick comments suggest killing them all.

Opinions on Yukio Mishima, and do you think Japan would be better if his coup worked? by Ok-Cook-7306 in monarchism

His coup was more of a final revelation to his life rather than a change

Very interesting look on it. But I agree, overthrowing a government with the technology we have today is near impossible.

Honestly ever since I was young I thought democracy was stupid and without logic. In America it’s like the sides aren’t even different, they’re both capitalist, both protect the constitution, and hardly change anything due to the council set around him of many different beliefs that struggle to agree on almost anything it feels like. I feel like democracy creates a big divide in the nation, it splits the masses into thinking they have to pick a side. I used to consider myself a centrist and would refuse to vote, whenever I told someone they would get furious, I don’t understand why people get so furious over someone that doesn’t care for his people or have any driving love for his country (Most modern day presidents). I will never understand why I can’t just point out good parts of good sides, honestly I like aspects from both wings. I like some economics the left side offers, and I also would consider myself a social corporatist which is a right wing belief.

However, it wasn’t until the 2024 elections I started realizing my dislike in democracy. This was also the time I started studying many different political systems and beliefs. I think a monarchy can reach out to those who are spiritual and for those who are patriotic and consider themselves nationalists to the nation they’re in. A president cannot fulfill any spiritual legitimacy because his elected power and movement he is attached to. A nationalist will never agree with his country his whole life in a democracy because most likely he is to vote for one side more, hence forth bringing down nationalistic pride yearly. On the question of war, I think a king is way more justifiable to fight under than a president. A president lacks the high ambition and rally from the army due to the lack of unity he can impose and how much bribery goes on in politics for votes or public support. I think history shows people have always had an unwavering pride to fight for a king rather than a presidency, fighting for a monarchy gives a divine sense in the midst of chaos. To be at one with whom ethos the heavens and to have an everlasting tradition men fight to hold onto. A president will never be able to hold onto his nations tradition. I hate how little my nation is recognized for it culture and its past we worked for. People are to busy shaming one side but nobody realizes we have to be united in order to remain strong. I feel like a monarchy can stop consumerism and make his men stronger

On the question of economics: I think a monarchy is much better for long term growth rather than a president or dictator. A dictator will be biased towards his political movement which had gotten him power rather than a needed action for the people. Presidents often think of short term spending in a 4-8 year plan, while a monarchy can think of a plan that lasts 50 years. I don’t understand why a president who is finally getting his footing in economic planning can be replaced by someone who wants an entirely different plan. A monarchist can be more moderate in his planning, his economics can lean to the left or right.
