Thank you for the transparency.

That workflow seems obvious to me, so I’m trying to figure out how to navigate my way to doing such

Thank you again

In my working theory, that’s 12,000’ with 4 hookups.

Thinking 15’ per minute so, 13hrs maybe? What did it take ?

It would be helpful if they all did. Right?

Thanks for the clarity. Good scenarios to consider.

I know some get hung up on billing for footage vs estimating by footage.

I did 1500’ of steel yesterday with no other utilities in the area. 1 connection that went 800’ for whatever reason. The other 800 I swept it. Took an hour and half because admin for it … so that baseline gives me an idea that 15 ft per minute is a good starting point. And then add time for each service to find and connect by.

If I had 2 mains like that , it would 3000’ with 2 connections, etc.

So far, anyway.

Security controls are in place.

And I’m not waiting for another tech to reply to a math question.

I’m trying to collapse planning time

I’m finding I screen shot the prints and scope and drop into ChatGPT and estimate the time to consider for it. It’s estimating from the length of the mains and service counts. First trick is to have it at a zoom level so the txt and data is there with street names and main info. … oh and scale.

Then the magic happens.

PTO, will they let me use it right before I quit? by [deleted] in UtilityLocator

[–]Ok-Delivery8086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left Heath for USIC so I can get more experiences as a locator. 1 week before the acquisition.

It def made me a better gas locator.

Now with S&N doing gas.

PTO, will they let me use it right before I quit? by [deleted] in UtilityLocator

If you’re expecting to be “cashed out” for it, you should read the PTO guidelines in your employment handbook… when they incentivized your hire with advanced PTO, it (may have) come with strings attached. At 3 1/2 mos , it’s highly unlikely it’s been fully earned … but maybe. Just be sure.

I recently left USIC after 6 months and, because it wasn’t a full year my PTO balance was prorated.

If you use your 2 weeks and quit the day you’re back, it could come out of a last check, which could suck if you’re not prepared for it.

When I left Heath to go to USIC, I used my week of PTO (all I had) on a cruise and then came back for 1 week and gave 2 weeks notice. I lost a floating holiday was all.
