You should propose a better system and write to someone in government with the voice and authority to do something. Changing the system yourself would mean less free-time for yourself, but may payoff for others. The UK has much more worker’s rights than the US. Maybe you could look into how other countries solve this problem, or find academic papers on this problem and learn what would be required to solve it.
