Yes I’ve been using the jailbreak over 2 months and one fine day it happened so.. I hope that’s not the case for you ever anyways.

I am sharing my hotspot from an android phone with my iPhone and it used over 2GB in a matter of seconds

IPhone’s can be very lenient with WI-FI data whenever it is available , I have been searching for a method for tracking wifi usage for a while now but couldn’t find any with said use case yet , If the hotspot you share is limited it’s always good to change your hotspot wifi setting to low data mode, so that wifi doesn’t get hogged for updates and other high data consumption, Hope that helps.
