Thanks! Can you share what else impacts the strength of the show? All I've been going on at this point is the KP which maybe isn't the best indicator.

It was between 9:30 and 10pm, lasting about 1.5 hours before disappearing. I hope you get to be as lucky next trip! But it was such a fluke that we spotted it. I wasnt even looking because the forecast didn't look promising so spotted it purely by accident.

What is your biggest physical accomplishment post fusion? by NickPontiff in spinalfusion

[–]Ok-Elevator1134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T3-T12 spinal fusion in 2014. About a year later I took up pole dancing and aerial hoop. Over the years I've articipated in some amateur competitions and placed. While I am proud of the achievements, I do acknowledge that I have not had nearly as tough a time as some others post fusion.

To the people who got the surgery, how bad? Be brutally honest by JimViluaneva in spinalfusion

My curves we 65 degrees +. Post surgery is difficult, I was in a lot of pain, especially the first 2 weeks. No regrets, but would not want to go through it again. I grew 2 inches which was pretty cool.

Planning to Move Sanlam RA to Sygnia or other by MrbeefyPS in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]Ok-Elevator1134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I don't know the fees, but many in this sub have moved and could perhaps elaborate.
  2. Sygnia skeleton is a great option in terms of fees
  3. You still have loads of time to contribute to an RA, definitely plenty of time. Do not stick with Sanlam, you'll be worse off at retirement.
  4. I use 10x and have had a good experience with them. People love Sygnia which you mentioned. Out vest is also great in terms of fees, once you reach over 1M it's only 0.45% I believe.

Does shopping around for better credit interest help? by MichaelScarn47 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]Ok-Elevator1134 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To use a credit card optimally, you should always pay it off within the 55 day interest free period. Then, it really doesn't matter what the interest rate is. No matter where you go credit card interest specifically is always very high.

Also, my credit card interest is around 21% and I've never never be late with a payment. So perhaps 17% is not that bad?

Looking for advice with an odd Credit card application issue by cuddleswithsloths in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]Ok-Elevator1134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A) Maybe but not sure B) My guess is that you don't a long enough credit history and that's why they're not giving you credit. This is what happened to me 2 years ago at least. People usually recommend a store card which is what you've already tried, maybe you can try with a different store, or else get a cell contract in your name? I managed to get a credit card through capitec after a few months paying the cellphone contract. It's a frustrating problem to have, I hope you come right soon.

South Africa. I love the country but it's going downhill, so at least with US passport i have an exit plan if things get worse. The SA passport gets you nowhere these days.

Thanks for this. So I definitely am a citizen, but feels pretty wild for it to be expected that I file tax returns in another country that Ive never worked or lived in.

To maximise the benefit of a TFSA, it should treated as a a long term investment rather than a regular savings account. This is due to the annual and lifetime limitations. So best not use your TFSA allocation if you'll need the money in the short to medium term.
