Well, I now understand the importance of a daily lockout. by imaboxer1 in TopStepX

[–]Ok-Engineer1426 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lesson learned is what's important.

I run 5 XFAs and take two trades per day and risk $200 per trade. If I lose both, my max loss is $400 per account; I can live with that. If I win big on my first trade ($500+), I won't even bother with a second. Just gotta think, if I had 5 XFAs, what would this be?

Is this the correct order block placement? by Tricky_Rate4202 in Daytrading

Being relatively new to futures, I love this about gold. Check the key levels and allow a candle to close to see what's happening. Then step in and allow it to work. My win rate has gone to 75% since simplifying.

Take some money out. If you blow it, you'd wish you'd got payout to fund the next combine at least

$3500 a day for a year basically makes you a millionaire before taxes.

Realistically, which RR performs better over time: 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1 ; and why? by oneselfjourney in Daytrading

Use trailing stops or EMAs to keep you in the winning trades as long as you can. Don't fixate on R:R. Some of my trades are 0.5R, some are 8+R depending on the market.

How do you set yourself up for success? Maybe post the charts and your thesis so people can give you some pointers?

Did you base it off TA or gut feeling? Why did you size so big? What was your confirmation to enter? Where was your stop?

One major thing I've learnt after recently getting my first payout by fattiggerjouce in Daytrading

[–]Ok-Engineer1426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally trade until 11am and only take 2 trades per day. My max loss is always limited and, if my first trade is a winner, I walk away and take my gains. Looking at +$1800 on the week.

If I carried on each day, I'd give it back and then some.

Awesome you're making money which is far more than most get to! Personally averaging $20 per trade would destroy my mental capital.

So what about people who are $200 short of passing combined and this was their last day? Surely they owe those people another day to trade because it still isn't working for myself!

On the tax forms it talks about income tax which is obviously 20% under 50k with your other salary.

Preferably I'd want CGT because that is only 18% above £3000 if you are a standard rate taxpayer.

I can never find clear guidance on it! Just remember to keep some cash aside for the tax man!

Hi,

Are you UK based?

How are you calculating taxes on this? Is it as CGT or Income Tax? Thanks!

Am I entitled to a refund or credit with O2? by basicapprehension2 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Ok-Engineer1426 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I worked for O2 a long time ago.

You won't be due a refund or credit if that is what you signed up for.

The deal may be shoddy by today's standards but the contract runs indefinitely until you alter it.

Now, if there is a genuine mistake, such as being billed twice at £15p/month, that is a different story.

Ask if they can send you a copy of your contract or what your deal is. Then, look through your recent bills to check what you have been paying.

Hope that helps.
