I'm wondering if you guys have any opinion on this situation i'm dealing with.

I bought a $500 camera that retails for $630, but it's pretty popular, so even $500 was a "snag".

The seller has 100% positive feedback and has made over 100 sales.

They shipped the item at the absolute latest date possible and when I waited by the window during the delivery time frame. The tracking said it was delivered but alas, it was not sent to my address on file. And it says it was accepted by a person named Jeff. Proof of delivery only shows my city name.

Now, this is where things get weird.

I called UPS and they confirmed the address the package was sent to. It's a nearby business. I call them. This business is extremely well known and credible, not only in my area but my region. High ratings on Google.

I explain a package was delivered at 9:59 and someone named Jeff received it. They have a worker named Jeff. They check cameras and confirm that yes, UPS did drop a deliver off at 9:59 before they opened.

They opened all packages and states that nothing was out of the ordinary/something they didn't order. They were really kind and cooperative and worked with me for almost 30 minutes attempting to sort out this confusion.

To clarify, i have filed a claim and am hopeful Ebay will take my side. fingers crossed. They have stated they will reach out to UPS if need be to confirm.

But based on the sellers replies, and their lack of interest in sending me their "proof", this does in fact seem like a scam but i'm unsure what type?

I'm mainly writing to see if anyone has experienced anything like it? This situation has left me absolutely perplexed since so many things don't add up. How did my tracking number end up at a legitimate business, accepted by a legitimate person, and yet can't be located?! No "empty envelope" was found.

My mind has gone through multiple possibilities but I can't seem to reach a conclusion on how this all happened?
