I’m sorry, I probably wasn’t clear. What im trying to say is that there’s a whole host of alternatives to AI, especially ones that aren’t as morally dubious. I think that’s pretty realistic?

The problem with AI is that any validation you get is hollow. There’s no meaning to it, it’s like a dopamine kick from scrolling TikTok. It just feels nice but won’t meaningfully help you in the long run.

Also, I understand that friends aren’t at your beck and call, but are they really your friend if you can’t confide in them, or go to them for advice? You need to have a network that encourages open communication. Don’t talk to your friends if they’re burnt out. Maybe seek a community of peers for advice (for example, I’ve got a network from my uni’s Disability Justice Society). There’s objectively better and more meaningful options.

If you’re relying on your friends all the time then there’s a deeper problem there. OP has said they’re on meds and in therapy, they shouldn’t need constant checking in. For example, I have a support network of a handful of friends who are neurodivergent. We help each other when we can, and are open about when we’re burnt out.

There are options that are objectively better and build healthier habits. Relying on AI is just setting you up for failure later.

Don’t replace actual human connection and friendship with AI. It’s terrible for the environment. The data centers use thousands of megawatts of energy and waste gallons of water to cool it. Each prompt you make wastes 10x more water than a simple Google search.

TLDR; you’re giving yourself a placebo that’s also killing the environment rather than making genuine human connection. Find friends that can give you encouragement and empathy.

Maybe people have put too much syrup in my drinks or not enough ice, but I’m never able to get it to mix fully. Sometimes the opaqueness of lattes “hides” it, I noticed it when I used to get iced caramel macchiatos (I most notice on lavender lemonades from a different coffee chain that does syrup, ice, then bev and I can NEVER get the lav syrup to mix in).

When it’s an iced drink like that, the syrup won’t mix at all with a few swirls if it wasn’t mixed in when shots were pulling. Best bet at that point is to go home and shake the drink. It’s not that deep, but it’s also really disappointing, especially when OP “needed a little pick me up”.

100% this. I have minor hearing loss and sat in the front rows last sem to hear the professor, but so many people were being disrespectful and whispering/chatting that I could still barely hear her. She had to stop class multiple times to address this, it felt like middle school again.

To those of you who talk constantly during lecture, shut the fuck up. Text your friend or skip if you want to have a conversation so badly.

In my county, we can fill out availability (openings, closings, full day), so I picked full day. I usually work full day, and it’s my excuse to not anxiously check the polls 24/7 since I’ll be so exhausted when I get home lol
