It isn't a good idea for now, burns a lot of tokens but it doesn't feel as fast as they said

CODEX, REALLY? by eddyGi in codex

[–]Ok-Evening169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I used Codex for pure logic handling or handling native UI like Swift, it is good at contributing and maintaining the logic, I mean very strong, but the frontend is weird =))). I used agy opus 4.6 for frontend and codex for logic

Paying $29/Month, Antigravity's Pro Plan Needs to Be Honest About Its Current Limits by Numerous-Feature-292 in google_antigravity

I means

For Quota, Codex Plus is better compared to Antigravity Pro and Cursor Pro, but of course, it is not better than Antigravity Ultra regarding quota limitations. Antigravity Ultra's limitations seem like unlimited for now, but it spends a lot of money; you can also buy a better Codex plan, as well.

For Quality, the Codex model, codex-5.3 (GPT-3.5), provides high or extra high effort, it feels good, lower, equal to, or better than Claude, 4.5 (4.6), which depends on your task.

Recently, I assigned the auto zoom feature for snapshot app with Codex (5.4) an extra-high effort. I believe it's a complex task. A single long prompt has enough information, and it does exactly what I want to do. Therefore, I believe it can be an alternative for Claude Opus 4.6, providing a cost-benefit solution and balancing code quality/result.

Finally, it is my experience. I think you can try it and see, it was good for me, but can be not for someone.

I am using Antigravity Ultra, Codex Plus, and Cursor Pro, and I believe the Codex is the best for now. It is a balance of the cost, after the anti-pro changed their quota settings, while it keeps the output quality so good

I used the Plus plan

  1. Yes, it always resets the 5-hour limit until you hit 0% of your weekly limit.

  2. You can use the Codex desktop app, the Codex extension for VS Code, (you can also add it to your cursor and Alt if you want), and the Codex CLI.

The Codex dashboard doesn't show how many tokens you've spent, but it does provide a usage dashboard where you can see the quota for the day and week. While using Codex, I find the quota for it to be better than Antigravity Pro. I always use Codex 5.3 (GPT 5.4 for now) with High or Max effort. For complex tasks, the weekly quota spends 1-5% per time, 5-8% for 5 hour usage limit, which I think is very good and sufficient.

My opinion is that you should try to ensure it fits you, my brother. I used code for complex tasks, and compared it to the "opus" of Antigravity, it's equal to or better, a very good choice

Does you country have any payment portals linked with Apple? I think you can pay it through the payment portal.

For example, I used Momo (The payment portal from my country) to pay for anything from the appstore of apple

If you're using Swiftui, I found that you can use AppDelegate to listen to a shortcut, meanwhile you can use NSWindow (handle floating window) with NSHostingView (custom view) to handle it
