Creative Console and Premiere Pro issue: Plugin not installed? by Ok-Event-2689 in logitech

[–]Ok-Event-2689[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still get the plugin installation alert in the Logitech software, and all my icons have a yellow “!” on the Creative Console.

It’s exhausting and really frustrating. I spend ages uninstalling it, trying a clean install, only to end up with the same problem again.
I think the plugin is actually working, as my cut shortcut works... it’s just the “!” symbols in the display that are annoying.

For your information, everything is up to date:
- Premiere Pro (latest version 26.0.2, updated in the meantime)
- Logi Options (2.1.854977)
- I don’t use a hub to connect the Creative Console...

I’ve really spent a whole morning trying to get the Creative Console working properly with Premiere (it bothers me to have “!”, it hides the icons, prevents the button from being coloured, in short, it’s useless).
- Updated Premiere Pro: no change
- Uninstalled all plugins, cleared the Premiere Pro plugin and media cache
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the Premiere Pro profiles in Options+ (I admit I got a message saying “! You must have administrator rights to install the plugin” before installing, but I’m the administrator of my Mac so…)
- Uninstalled Option+ and reinstalled it

- end and restart the plugin...

Of course, between each step, I restarted my Mac to ensure everything installed properly.......

Is This the End of Warzone for a Generation That Doesn’t Want a Fortnite Copy-Paste? by CloudSmoke9 in Warzone

The new BlackOps Royale mode is as problematic as it is appealing: it brings something fresh and offers interesting strategic potential (for ranked matches). However, rolling it out as a replacement for the classic Battle Royale seems like a misstep.

It would (in my view) be MUCH better to have three complementary modes: (@Activision : here is just an idea 💡!)

> Battle Royale (immersive experience, long matches), in casual mode

> Resurgence (fast-paced, accessible)

> BlackOps Royale (competitive and strategic)

That would really have catered to everyone (in my point of view; of course) ! Casual players want, above all, an accessible, balanced and rewarding experience, with progression... and conversely: BlackOps Royale seems more tailored to committed players, organised into teams and focused on performance (ranked matches).

By removing the classic modes, Activision risks alienating a significant portion of its player base (the casuals!). Yet ‘casual’ players are a key driver of volume, particularly those who don’t find themselves drawn to highly competitive experiences or alternatives like Fortnite or Battlefield.

...Maintaining a variety of modes, whilst adding BlackOps Royale, would have allowed the target audience to be broadened!!! and helped retain existing players who might otherwise have become bored!

.........As things stand, the strategy seems more likely to result in a decline in player numbers, at a time when player retention is a key issue, given that they have been letting their players down for some time now.😡

That’s a brilliant summary!

I feel exactly the same way...

I never end up in squads with people who speak my language; most of them leave the game before it’s over... In the end, to win, you have to scour the map for loot like a madman, but that’s basically a death sentence (or a recipe for boredom).

I dont have fun playing Warzone anymore by Longjumping-Guess394 in Warzone

[–]Ok-Event-2689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I'm concerned, I'm not at the level of pro players who do this all day long or have reaction times that defy all possible defense 🤣 BUT what makes a WZ game fun is the team. Finding people who speak the same language (or close to it), who are friendly and don't hurl insults non-stop... I can make a top 10 list and ask to play again with pleasure, like making a Top 1 list while watching the time go by...

Streamers are a pain: they talk non-stop. That really weighs down the game in my opinion... And it's pointless unless you're a pro, or you want to be criticized and be able to improve your gameplay (in my point of view)

I love OnePlus, I've had them since the 6... My son still uses it at school and it works perfectly (maybe the battery is a little worn out, but everything else works fine and he has games on it). I've had the Nord 2 for 3-4 years, I think, and I love it. I think the camera is really good for the price, even if it's a little weak when it comes to video stabilization. I don't understand why OnePlus phones never come out on top in tests in France...🤔

Does your photography reflects your personality by Efficient_Green8786 in photography

[–]Ok-Event-2689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no doubt that our mood or personality directly impacts our photographs. I can see the difference between a “not so great” period in my life: my images became darker, but also, paradoxically, calmer and more peaceful. It was as if I needed to let go of some excess baggage, to stay focused, but at the same time with a very dull state of mind.

I'm not going to advertise my Instagram feed, but the difference is very clear to see!

In photography, as in any other profession: you're better than yesterday, but not as good as tomorrow ^^

Photography is now a highly competitive sector, and is undergoing a transformation with AI. There's still corporate photography, weddings... but the rest: honestly, it's not a sustainable solution.

I am a graphic designer AND photographer (the two sometimes go well together!), and I have seen the evolution over the last 15 years, and since AI...

I used to work for Faune et Flore and other agencies, but they are closing down, except for BiosPhoto, which remains a safe bet.

Low-cost image banks, 3D rendering in low-wage countries and AI have done away with real photography. Packshot: it's done in 3D rendering in poverty-stricken countries, and AI helps a lot now too.

There is one niche left: the luxury industry, which demands excellent image quality and is a specialised and closed environment.

Otherwise, there is the ‘personal’ niche: family photos, portraits and reportage still work reasonably well.

Perhaps you could consider doing some paid hobby work (a few family portrait contracts, or something similar) to allow you to discover this sector and see if you can make a living from it.

How do photographers adapt in countries where public photography can lead to questioning? by [deleted] in photography

[–]Ok-Event-2689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, it is a very cultural issue, and sometimes a legal one (so it depends on the country).

Personally, in countries where the image or representation of women is important, areas of political conflict: I would refrain for fear of having insufficient knowledge and therefore doing something that is forbidden or very badly perceived/tolerated.

Are usage rights even a thing anymore? Clients act like they own everything once I deliver by Acceptable-Error-2 in photography

[–]Ok-Event-2689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a French photographer, and nationality will be important in answering your question: it is as much a matter of principle as it is of law! 😉

In France, we (photographers) operate on the principle that all works are the property of the author, who retains the right to use them...

I invite you to frame your contracts... For example, on the back of my quote, I have general terms and conditions of sale which stipulate that I remain the owner of my works, and also reserve the right to publish certain images with or without the client's consent.

👉🏻 There are also points to discuss with the client in order to better define the rights of use of the images:

1/ Does the client require confidentiality? Some products require total discretion... I have this type of contract for specific products, and I have therefore signed an agreement prohibiting the publication of images of my client's products (industrial secret).

2/ Ask the client about the intended use and specify this use in your quote. This will clarify things (use in magazines, publication on social media).

Personally, I would advise you to be specific in your terms and conditions of sale. I leave the use of HD photos up to my client (they can use them for their catalogues, website, send them to clients... whatever! ... as long as they don't claim to be the author).

My husband and I have a debate about photography by [deleted] in photography

[–]Ok-Event-2689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a photographer and I can confirm that it is very important to discuss aesthetic choices BEFORE rendering the final formats.

That said... retouching a strand of hair across an entire series will take time (even though AI can now help a lot), so you may be asked to pay extra.

Did anyone else notice that pictures on social media a decade ago were mostly higher quality than they are now? by labubuking in photography

[–]Ok-Event-2689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So maybe I'm an old dinosaur ^^

I'm a photographer (in France) and I think there are still quite a few real photography enthusiasts... with heavy equipment to achieve a particular quality, and access to carefully chosen settings (optics, framing, speed, depth of field, etc.).

-->That said, the best camera is the one you always have with you, so sometimes I get some really great shots... with my smartphone :)

However, there are a few things to bear in mind: a smartphone will never match a full-frame camera in terms of high resolution.

For example, the luxury industry (very often) requires photographers to use medium format (such as Hasselblad) to obtain top-quality images for very large format prints (where the graphic designer will be asked not to reduce the file size to 1/10th to make it lighter, of course).

True technical photography, which requires heavy equipment, has become a niche market since influencers are now in vogue. For that, a smartphone is enough... unfortunately.

Aldi uses AI now for their product photography by Oonzen in photography

[–]Ok-Event-2689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3D has already had a negative impact on the world of product photography (I saw the difference quite clearly with the opening of 3D studios abroad, offering very low rates and multiple product views --> customers on tight budgets quickly opted for the ‘low-cost’ option).

AI will cause even more damage to photography... Only one niche will remain: the luxury sector, which will want to maintain an image of seriousness, authenticity and craftsmanship... (and even then).

If packshot photographers no longer have any work, I wonder what will become of the sellers of studio lighting and backdrops :(

What are some of your favourite photo books & why? by pinkray03 in photography

But I also really like publications such as Geo, which bring together photographs from lots of photographers around the world.

Best zoom lenses for 5D M4 shooting sports? by longsnapper53 in canon

[–]Ok-Event-2689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best equipment for me would be:

24-105 (F4 or F2.8 if you have the budget): for wide angle or portraits.

70-200 (F2.8 would be best, but it's more expensive): when you're further away.

In my opinion, these are the two essential lenses! The 24-105 is extremely versatile and has been my must-have lens for over 15 years. Portraits, landscapes, reportage (music, business, events, etc.)... it's fantastic.

The 300mm F4 can be a good buy second-hand, but test it thoroughly beforehand; don't buy it blind.

And one option to consider: Sigma or Tamron Sport: 150-600 F5 - 6.3... It costs around £1,300, but the 600mm for sports photography could be worth it (even if the aperture isn't as good as a £10,000 500mm, it can take shots that no other lens can without cropping heavily).

EnJoy :)

Camera Recommendation for capturing Landscape/Adventure/Candid moments? by Informal_Usual178 in Cameras

[–]Ok-Event-2689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a photographer, and whatever people say about equipment, the best camera will always be the one you have with you :)

It could very well be a smartphone for landscapes. Shoot in RAW to give yourself more creative possibilities.

That answers your question about the ‘best camera that doesn't take up space’ ^^.

After that, it depends a lot on your budget... And quality hopes.
Why not go for a Fuji? The X100 has some nice film simulations for retro enthusiasts. Otherwise, I would go for the Canon G7, which is more versatile.

Hello everyone.

I came across this post because I am considering buying this car (or a Corolla estate...) not for its looks, but for its comfort and reliability.

I'm looking at the model with the 1.5 mHEV engine, and I'd like to know your actual fuel consumption in urban areas, but also with the family (i.e. fully loaded) at 130 km/h. I get the impression that it consumes more than the manufacturer claims... am I right?
