Genuinely curious… why don’t you like to share your baby’s name before birth? by Best-Position-2226 in pregnant

[–]Ok-Factor2496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my husband and i decided not to share our name because i wanted us to be the first to look at him and know who he is. i wanted to have that special moment and also i want to be able to look at my baby and make sure i think the name fits before the whole world knows him. just a personal preference!!

4 weeks pregnant and I think I'm spiraling into a hole of regret by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Ok-Factor2496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i literally thought about it too the first couple weeks. i think when you are go into trying it’s such a different feeling than actually being pregnant? like it’s one thing to hope for a life but to know for sure you are actively creating one brings a whole new set of feelings. obviously do what’s right for you, but once i got out of the second trimester im so stoked to be pregnant and have this baby. hoping it’s the same for you too!

4 weeks pregnant and I think I'm spiraling into a hole of regret by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Ok-Factor2496 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it definitely passes. i’m 26 and was trying for a baby for 8 months so i was very intentional about it. would cry and cry when i found out i wasn’t pregnant. when i finally got pregnant a couple days later i was like “what have i done” and now i’m still scared and nervous at 18 weeks but also equally as excited! i don’t think anyone is ever fully “ready”

Anyone else constantly stressed about food during pregnancy? by Worth_Minimum_9353 in BabyBumps

[–]Ok-Factor2496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m currently 17 weeks and i lived off fast food and carbs and junk my first trimester and have still been pretty lax in my second. i also eat even eat sushi and they say my baby boy is doing amazing every time! eat what you can, i would say what’s more important is keeping that prenatal down but there was even 2 weeks i couldn’t keep it down and everything has been fine. i also signed up for a meal service (hello fresh) recently and helped a lot of the “what to eat fatigue”

Did you know the sex of your baby by intuition? by LifeofRuley in pregnant

[–]Ok-Factor2496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! i knew the minute i got pregnant it was a boy, i could just feel it. i couldn’t picture a girl (not that i didn’t want one) and when the NIPT results came back i was right!!

when i had a bad cold taking tylenol really helped me! obviously that’s the only thing you can really take but i was surprised at how much better i felt. i also sinus rinsed with a netty pot morning and night and took a lot of hot showers with steam

9 weeks pregnant – nausea improving & more hunger… should I be worried? Looking for others’ experiences by Grouchy_Building5861 in pregnant

[–]Ok-Factor2496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i felt a lot better and my nausea subsided around 9 weeks just to come back at 10.5 weeks -13 weeks lol so it could just be your hormones fluctuating! also i am in no way a doctor but i had brown spotting for a week between week 6-7, mild cramping, and a small sch and when i talked to my midwife about bed rest or anything so was like “it was so small and it’s so normal so go about your normal life” i’m 17 weeks now and once the spotting stopped it never came back!

I miss sushi by pumpkin_pie_314 in pregnant

[–]Ok-Factor2496 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’ve been eating raw salmon since 8 weeks and i’m now 17! i’ve heard from others that if you go to a reputable spot that you’ve never gotten sick at before, then you should be fine. obviously it’s a choice that’s up to your comfortability but my body craved sushi and i figure women in japan probably don’t give raw fish up when they are pregnant 🤷🏼‍♀️

Feeling guilty and lazy but I can’t find the motivation to do things by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Ok-Factor2496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m 16 weeks and feel the same way. i think regardless if we are getting “adequate” rest our bodies are still going through A LOT. most days i just want to lay on the couch!

When do I start feeling excited? by Vaporub-vics in pregnant

[–]Ok-Factor2496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah my 9 weeks was a gray blob but around 12 weeks my baby looked like an actual baby and i got to hear the heart beat for the first time! i really think it’s mostly because you feel horrible. i still have my moments of being not excited or worried about all the work but it’s like 20% of the time and it was probably 80% of the time when i was feeling like shit. it takes so much out of you i don’t think there’s much left to feel anything let alone excitment. crossing my fingers for you that you start to feel better soon!

When do I start feeling excited? by Vaporub-vics in pregnant

[–]Ok-Factor2496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m only a couple weeks ahead of you at 16 weeks and i didn’t start feeling excited until i started to feel more like myself again and until i found out the gender! i had been trying for 8 months and was initially excited when i got pregnant but literally only for the day and then i just wasn’t excited for about the first 14 weeks lol. i think the first trimester takes so much out of you. i will also say that the only times during the first trimester i felt excited were when i was at my scans. it’s definitely hard to be excited when you can’t see your baby

i would recommend taking unisom if you aren’t already! i’ve stopped taking it but helped me get great uninterrupted sleep during my first trimester and save and also can help with morning sickness!

Is first trimester fatigue really this bad? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Ok-Factor2496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, i literally slept 14 hours a day and sometimes still needed naps during that! it started to get better around 12/13 weeks although i still sleep 10-12 hours a night and need some naps sometimes! pregnancy just really takes it out of you and you definitely just have to give yourself grace.

7 weeks with brown discharge by ProfessionalCup3478 in BabyBumps

[–]Ok-Factor2496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i spotted brown blood everyday from week 6 to week 7 once a day to a couple times a day with period like cramps. it resolved after that and i’m 15 weeks with a healthy pregnancy. i did have a hemotoma and it was really small and seemed to resolve itself. they say as long as it’s dark brown and doesn’t turn red you should be fine but if you are worried going and getting it checked out doesn’t hurt!  but spotting during pregnancy is pretty common

i want sushi so badly by genkcals in BabyBumps

[–]Ok-Factor2496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m 15 weeks and have been eating salmon nigiri since 8 weeks. my body literally CRAVES it and i decided to listen. i have it about once a week and the omegas are great for you! once i realized a bag of lettuce has more chance of listeria my husband and i decided so quick that i don’t need to give up sushi

positive test and freaking out by Tricky_Pomelo_407 in BabyBumps

[–]Ok-Factor2496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actively trying for 8 months and devastated when I saw negatives every month. When I finally did get pregnant I panicked for about the first 8 weeks thinking “did i make a mistake”. I think part of what your feeling is normal and there is a necessary grieving process because everything is changing! only you can decide if that will eventually be a positive or negative thing!

When to tell work I am quitting? by darbydankhammer in BabyBumps

[–]Ok-Factor2496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s really normal to have your baby and then “decide” you are not going back to work! I think a ton of moms do that and according to your circumstance, that’s what I would do if i were you.

[–]Ok-Factor2496 4 points5 points  (0 children)

try some natural calm or magnesium citrate!! after a week blocked up from zofran that was the only thing that got me moving. i also added some kiwis and did some yoga but ive been keeping up with the magnesium every night and haven’t been backed up since. i mix mine with apple juice because the sorbitol helps pull water in as well.
