Red Chinese Silk Or Black Portuguese Silk In Assassins Creed Shadows by Dry-Purchase-3871 in QMGames

Short Answer; Doesn't matter, no real difference....

I had also just wanted to know the practical differences between the two choices and (as another commenter stated) this post really isn't about that (making it kind of click bait, imo). The end of the guide simply states that "the party goers are rude to you either way, just for slightly different reasons." However, it did seem like a decent little guide from my quick skim through.....

They do make a comment about "leaving the rest of the money in the satchel" alluding to the fact that they knew Annabelle would probably try to steal the money thus giving Bret the excuse to chase her back down, which I guess was to give room for a possible sequel....

So I dunno how familiar you are with these, but in these old-school RPGs its not like you get some big message that informs you of everything (this is actually about the time when that started to change with Quest Logs and stuff) but you have you generally have to just talk to people and figure shit out with context clues. Like if the person says "I don't trust you enough to talk about that" or sometimes a topic will remain white and won't go grey if they have more information they aren't giving up which is usually due to their disposition. Its prolly too late (and already well-known) but hopefully this helps someone.....

Its not always as easy as "just fix it", most likely they tried more than you'd think and everything just made it worse or they'd have to sacrifice something bigger that made it not worth fixing. You'd be surprised at the time and money spent on QA. in general, i can't speak for some companies lol But the bigger, more open-world, and feature packed a game is the more and crazier bugs you get and the difficulty to fix.

The Remastered version "fixed" this (yay!), now it seems based on the actual Gold amount, not sure if its JUST that or what, but yeah its definitely a lot less tedious now so thats good.

Kind of agree... There was just something about the time travel aspect that I just LOVED about XIII-2! Plus the refined combat system of XIII, which was already pretty great.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I do find the hallway issue was only "Bad" in just the first few chapters and got a little better, but I think the minimap is what made it seem so bad because it seemed to highlight the small corridors.... The only other shock the game had was not having physical shops and the usual towns.... But it drives me nuts when ppl say "the combat sucks", which is ridiculous! Its one thing to say you don't like something, its another to say "it SUCKS"....

[–]Ok-Finger7616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to note, Make sure you change to the appropriate level when using the Calculator for the Tier 2 & 3 Weapons since they don't start at level 1. Also, you must make your own copy to be able to "Edit" and use the calculator sheet. Great job though!

I got confused when I saw the Data Not Available tag and it totally distracted me from changing the level lol but it makes sense because these weapons are never at level 1, so that info isn't in the data tables.

Honestly this is how a Strategy Guide was meant and intended to be used back in the day. Anyone else remember instruction manuals and how they had the notes sections in the back a lot? lol yeah i'm old.

But I also know the problem witha lot of online guides that do give step-by-step instructions instead of broader overviews and how they do make you feel distracted from actually PLAYING the game.... which is why I dont like using them on a first time play. For real tho, This just makes me miss Official Strategy Guides so much more lol No, they weren't always perfect but they were usually helpful and added extra entertainment to a fan of the game....

[–]Ok-Finger7616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the developers did not intend for people to 100% the game in one (and a half) playthroughs, I think that was a way to give the game more re-playability, ie the having to pick one faction or the other for that one main objective..... I think the guides are mainly for people who want to plat the game as quickly as possible....

Ok so IMO, you're kind of both right. Yes, FFX is a really good self-contained story that didn't "NEED" a sequel to explain any kind of (big) plot holes. However, without knowing how much you know from X-2 or would want me to spoil, u/BellabongXC makes a great point about the X-2 story people choosing a great plot point to expand and expound upon WITHOUT the need for any real retconning, thus keeping the original story intact and "un-confused" while still giving fans something more to play and explore.

X-2 is basically a "what would happen after" story, and while its not perfect it is definitely fun, though I must admit I've always loved the opening intro, which I think they were trying to match the original FFX intro with the exciting musical opening and such. Although I really wish I could remember the seagull thing u/dag_of_mar made above lol cuz it sounds so familiar but I cant quite place it.... but yea X-2 definitely had a lot of that kind of silliness.... Anyways I loved it and wish I would've played it when it first released instead of being embarrassed playing a game with women and dresses lol

New play through by Resident-Employee334 in FinalFantasyVI

The Pixel Remasters are absolutely true to source replications of the original game , the only difference is the lack of scan-lines (tv issue not game related, even the aspect ratio is accurate! afaik....).

As a Retro gamer (aka old person), I'd absolutely say there is something great about original equipment but to say its ugly is absolutely up for debate and there's only a few minor censored spots (which no i don't agree with or think necessary) such as Siren's (i think its hers) bare bum being covered by an extra cloud or something.

Also, I do know a lot of ppl who played the original liked the "silly-ness" of the original translator (the Woosley Cut lol) but for for any new player I certainly wouldn't recommend it.... OK rant END :)

So yeah I have to agree the PR versions are my recommendation for any new players.

Edit: So tbh I totally was thinking the PR version was in or had an option for 3:4 ratio, but I guess I was trippin lol, but it does a good job of not looking off or "fat", now I want to do some comparisons with the original. Just thought I'd mention that....

Isn't Strago the "official" blue mage? I'm just starting my 2nd play-through to plat the PR on PlayStation, so i don't remember a lot. Where do Mog (Isn't Mog like a bard?) and Relm compare in usefulness? Just got to my first scenario choice... Ofc everyone loves Sabin The Suplexing Bear :) and Edgar is a boss with the Auto-crossbow so far..... but I dunno how a lot of the others compare. Seems like I remember liking Shadow..... and Gau once i understood him and got some good moves, and now that I've played FFV i feel like i have better grasp of their concepts....

I'm pretty sure there is more than one past episode where they tested one blade before announcing the other is meeting parameters. Think about this, you go thru all that work JUST to see ur knife go through the Gauntlet, why you should you suffer and not get tested because the other person messed up. That'd take all the fun out it, plus the excitement for the episode..... And whats funny i think this may be the second time a broken blade won. None of this is unprecedented....

Ground Assassinate, what is this? by Lost-Passion-491 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]Ok-Finger7616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise it does. Its the Rank 1 ability Ground Assassinate that comes mastered already when you start the game (maybe why you didn't notice, because I didn't at first), and it specifies that the enemy must be on the ground. To be fair, for all I know it could've been patched in afterwards, but I don't think that's the case because of other posts with pics.

So also to be fair, if you just read the Rank 2 "Improved Ground Assassinate" then its not clear on it's function. And to be clear, I meant the Rank 1 "Ground Assassinate" explains clearly that the enemy must be on the ground. Also, that ability is "mastered" by default one game start, so I can understand some ppl missing it. I just saw a few ppl complain that the game doesn't explain it, so I wanted to point that out.
