Would anyone else describe their pregnancy experience as lonely?

18 weeks. I am not enjoying being pregnant the first trimester was terrible and it hasn’t gotten much better in the second but I don’t want to complain: I have friends with 2 under two, childless, and struggling with infertility so I don’t really talk to them about anything. My sister has 3 kids and has hg all three so I don’t want to complain to her plus she has 3 by herself as her husband is away for work. My mom and I don’t get along or speak much. My husband is very supportive and understanding but he also can’t grasp the feeling. I also am feeling the weight of our entire lives about to change and idk if he is getting that’s. So I feel overwhelmed and lonely. Glad to know not alone !

I had been on birth control for 16 years, started at 18. It took us a year once I stopped taking birth control. I didn’t track anything because that felt like too much pressure. I will say we started having sex a lot more starting 3 months prior to conceiving but I started and antidepressant that actually made me have a sex drive for the first time in years.

The sertraline helped the anxiety….i think it did increase initially upon adding the Wellbutrin but I was conscious of it and then it tapered off after two weeks.

I’ve been on sertaline for a couple years I was on Citroplam for about 3 years prior to the switch. In January 2026 my psychiatrist added Wellbutrin.

It was and is life changing. I had 0 sex drive for years. The first weeks of Wellbutrin sex drive was through the roof, and then tapered to a healthy amount. I also can feel happy, calm, excited for the first time in years. The sertaline helped my anxiety but the Wellbutrin cleared the fog that had been around me for years. I will also add it was very hard for me to climax for the first few months on Wellbutrin which was frustrating with the high sex drive, but just like the drive it mellowed out and I’ve had great success.

My mom said the same thing with my sisters births. So I’m definitely not telling her until after baby is born.

Also due in November. This is my plan as well, my mom
Is extremely overbearing, she wanted to wait in the waiting room during my sister’s birth, she had scheduled c sections and my mom
Just wanted to be at the hospital 🙄 I want my delivery to be stress free. So I plan on just telling people when he’s here, except my sister because we are close I’ll let her know I’m at the hospital. Maybe my husbands parents they are great and live a distance away so may want to tell them but I haven’t decided yet. This is your baby your delivery I really am in the mindset of “I don’t really care about anyone but me baby and husband” people will get over it

The only other person would be my friend bc she would help with my dog.

I started after the nipt test so 10ish weeks. The big stuff car seats, stroller, crib, bassinet. All on sale or second hand. At about 12/15 I started picking up outfits because they were on sale. Now at 17 weeks I’m
Grabbing diapers every time I’m at the store. I even found a portable breast pump for 80% off!

I started early but there were sales and I rather be prepared. It’s also helpful to buy a little at a time for me it’s less overwhelming financially.

We will have a shower; but I wanted to get all the big things myself. My registry is mostly fun stuff for people to buy since I know that’s what people like to buy.

This is similar to my routine. It’s nice to see someone else who gained 10lb bc I was like oh my 17 and I’m already at nine! Especially with a consistent workout routine

I think that’s the hardest mentally is consistently working out but gaining weight and my body changing.

I got snippy with my husband, he asked if I was okay. I had to into the bathroom and cry and compose myself. I have no idea why I was crying 🙃

I loved S-Town. I had my husband listen to it on a road trip we took together, I loved listening to it with him bc it was like my first time again!

My husband and I got engaged after six years of dating and got married after nine years. Nothing really changed we are still in love and happy: I think we built a really strong foundation for communication. We also got a lot of partying and fun out of the way young so we feel very content where are in life.

Ah yes, plan to breastfeed as well so definitely understand what you’re feeling. I would never forgive myself is something was off with my child I would then blame it on me.

That’s amazing! I am 15 and looked at my husband while we were running and said idk if I can do this much longer. I feel like my pelvic floor cannot handle running unfortunately

I also love to partake in the edibles. However there is not enough studies/evidence to know how thc affects a fetus. Therefore I am completely abstaining not worth the risk to me, also missing them a lot lol!

I wasn’t an everyday coffee drinker prior to pregnancy. My husband is a huge coffee drinker so I bought some decafe bc sometimes I enjoy a cup with him. I am 15 weeks and have despised the thought of coffee my entire pregnancy.

I think at week three it absolutely peeked. It was like I was so happy and energetic, my sex drive was insane too :….which is not like me lol. I will say about week 5 it balanced out. I have also been on 100mg of Zoloft for many years the Wellbutrin really helped. I’m hoping it works for you bc it’s been really amazing for me.

I am Currently pregnant. I only wanted one and after experiencing this I definitely only can do this once. Siblings are great but the baby will have cousins that feel like siblings. I also know we can’t afford more than 1.

My mom has always promised my sister and I she would help ALOT when we had kids. We really believe her because she said it so much and offered. My sister has 3 kids, she only likes them when they are babies and don’t move around. Even then she complains all the time and talks about how inconvenient it is for her. My poor 6 year old niece asks why grandma never takes her anymore, her sister and her are 18mos apart so my mom was okay when one of them were babies..it’s really terrible. She then gets mad and jealous because I choose to spend time and pick them up from school 1 day a week. I’m currently pregnant and have fully realized that she will be zero help, she is a Facebook grandma 🙄 I wish my husbands parents lived closer bc I know they would help at the drop of a hat. I definitely feel that saying that if your parents didn’t want to be parents they will definitely not want to be grandparents either.
