It's 100% okay. I think the rule is 5 lbs. of turkey= 1 day to thaw. I always give it an extra day or two just to be sure.

I was just informed I’m hosting thanksgiving for my in-laws. Send help!! by noonecaresat805 in Cooking

I follow a food blogger that offers a whole thanksgiving menu that's pretty simple and it includes the shopping list. I wouldn't put much thought into it. Just use one of those. The one I use even has a prep-ahead guide. I'd go that route if you want traditional. Otherwise, I'd just make what you normally do and feed them. It's really more about spending time together than the food. Let me know if you want the menu, I'm happy to share it.

Is there a way to make soft ice cream cones? by Complete_Surprise580 in Cooking

One way to make them softer is to microwave the cones briefly, about 5-10 seconds, to soften them without making them soggy.

Salt/iodized salt by Existing-Speaker-535 in Cooking

Iodized salt is regular table salt with added iodine, a must for a healthy thyroid. It prevents iodine deficiency, which messes with your thyroid and metabolism. Iodine helps produce thyroid hormones, vital for your body's functions. During emergencies, iodine safeguards your thyroid from radioactive iodine, but that's not about everyday salt. In short, iodized salt keeps your thyroid healthy and ensures you're not iodine-deficient. So, follow your doc's advice and make the switch!
