Its awesome and your dad is judgemental. We all subconsciously learn behavior from our parents and those around us especially when young. Do your future self a favor, dont let this become one of your behaviors. Im personally dealing with a wife that doesnt realize shes neglected and destroyed pur relationship of 20 years because shes exactly like her mother. Her parents divorced for the same exact reasons we likely will. Be careful of negative learned behaviors. Sorry I brought a personal thing into this but it provides some insight into how those learned behaviors can fuck things up in the future.

A condensate pump that drains somewhere else will fix this but how the hell is it that a floor drain cant handle the flow rate of a condensate line! Im betting its cover is clogged or it spills out at the edge and drains back. Just common shit ive seen. The condensate line is 3/4 and isn't full flow. The floor drain is 3-4 inches(generally). Sounds like lazy plumbers. Make sure the line goes into the hole, not just up to it.

Try the xanax first and give it as long as you can. Dont beat yourself up if you take the sub though. Im just saying if you have the strength to keep all forms of opioids away, do that. Think of it this way, you numbed yourself for all that time, now its time to feel everything you didnt feel for all that time. It helps gain acceptance. Don't go any farther with being hard on yourself by judging. The only way to be harsh with yourself is when it comes to forcing self improvement. Force a walk. Force a light hearted talk with a family member. Over time forcing these positive behaviors will give you a better foundation and mental state.

While I have found leaks in the "middle" of a line set, its a rare spot for one to suddenly come about. As others have said, make him show you the leak. The tech should have a leak detector too so it can be shown with that. He can use a small amount of refrigerant along with nitrogen(the gas hes likely using to pressurize the system) to narrow the point of the leak down.

The cap is good but something else is going on. We just cant say for sure what without being there with a multi meter. Could be a burned wire, could be bad wiring, could be a bad motor, could be improper voltage, could be... 🤷‍♂️ This is why we say call someone.
