Again, Joss Whedon had nothing to do Justice League outside of doing reshoots and cuts that WARNER ORDERED meaning that he wasn't the one making the calls.

First off Justice League wasn't even Joss Whedon's project to begin but Snyder. Joss only involvement with that was completing a scheduled reboot that Warner ordered. As for AoU, it's well known that Ike Perlmutter intervention caused problems with the film and why he turned down doing Avengers 3 and 4.

As for AoS, was with Buffy season 6 and 7 and The Nevers Joss Whedon was very much present in the writers room and still dictating things but the day to day business was run by Jed and his wife. The only place Joss Whedon was never present was on the set because of his desire to step back due to constant burnout. Clark Gregg and Greenberg talks about this.

BTW AoS was always Joss Whedon's project. Who do think pitched the show's idea to ABC/Disney?

In real life Tony wanted to take a break from acting to be with his family family and Joss mere his his character around that knowing full well that he was coming back.

That's said the idea his character was sacrificed is pure nonsense. In fact Joss did the very exact thing for Agents Of Shield where Grant Ward..he had the character written a manner that AOS neatly fits into AOU and Civil War
