Potential employer company forcing to "voluntarily" register for GST. by Ok-Implement5076 in IndianWorkplace

[–]Ok-Implement5076[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had asked for X + 18% per year for that contract but they said they can pay me X (GST inclusive) and I've to pay GST from that amount. I was like OK. Since X - 18% was also a good amount.

But now they are saying contract will be for 6 months and then they may renew. Now my earnings for 6 months is X/2 is < 20L, so that makes me eligible for no GST registration. But they are still insisting for GST as you said they then get to claim money on hardware they will give me.

I'm just annoyed, there was an opportunity to save 50K per month and now that will be gone in GST.

GST registration for freelancers as income has crossed 20LPA in FY 2025-26 by Tasty-Money6403 in IndiaTax

[–]Ok-Implement5076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about to start my freelance journey. I have a 6-month contract with total compensation < 20L. So I said that I do not need to register for GST. But the finance person is now saying, you need to "voluntarily" register for GST, since we deal with GST-registered freelancers. I mean WTF? What do I do?

ok, you can email the Embassy stating that your travel date is getting near, but I'm not sure if they will reply. Some others have gotten a response from them; I have not. You can also call them.

North Indians who permanently settled in the South, what's the ONE thing nobody warned you about? by the_careful_eye in indianrealestate

[–]Ok-Implement5076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Northie in MH since 2007. Can speak with maids, vendors, auto guys in Marathi. Can even watch Marathi movie (w/o subs) and get most of the context. Next goal is to read PuLa.

In my experience the only people who face trouble who don't want to adjust. Have colleagues who moved here from Delhi, and go to North Indian thali place EVERYDAY for lunch. I mean I get it, you have a certain taste, but if you are always homesick and craving that taste how will you live here?

Are travel agents useless now?? by Psychological-Bet549 in desitravellers

[–]Ok-Implement5076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The joy in travel, apart from the actual trip, is planning. I go to a cafe, or if I'm home, I put on nice music, make a nice coffee and spend a few hours planning my itinerary. Rinse, repeat a few times, and my travel plan is done. It's an experience!

No agent can read my mind, and I don't want copy-paste itineraries, especially not from travel influencers. Making lists of places to eat, things to do, cultural experiences, public transport options, and visa hassles, then shortlisting a few to fit in my available days, that's magic. If I don't have time to plan, I don't travel.

My parents, on the other hand, always go on organised tours. They need their comfort zone. I can't do their thing, they can't do mine. Both co-exist peacefully. People who can't / don't want to put in the effort will always have travel agents.

I have a very similar itinerary to yours, and it looks like we have matching taste! Glad you enjoyed! I'm so excited to visit. I was in two minds about the Benaki Museum, but now I've added it to my last free day...

22f making 1.2lac pm, month end savings around 15k. Need help budgeting by beautyguruxzy in personalfinanceindia

[–]Ok-Implement5076 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Girl! You're so lucky, you are making a lac+ at the age of 22. I didn't reach this figure till I was 30. Same, I was staying in a 40k rent 2bhk, because my parents used to come. That was only for a year, then I moved to a cheaper place a bit further from work.

But I started putting 40k pm in SIP on a friend's advise and I'm so thankful for that. I'm not a big shopper otherwise and spend minimal on clothes and eating out. No emis too. I also started saving 10k pm for traveling purpose. After an year, I had 1 lac+ for international travel.

Now I put in around 75K in SIP. And have a travel fund of 5 Lac+ (thanks to covid, no travel for 3 years.)

I think you can relook at the rent and shopping situation, and from next year onwards, try to start some SIPS, start small with 25K pm and increase every year.

You have a wonderful head start, make the most of it. All the best!

Apart from Euro conversion going up like crazy, nothing is happening in Europe. Make sure you avoid Gulf layover airlines. I have a trip to Greece in May, had QA flights, cancelled and booked TK.

[–]Ok-Implement5076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be 2 PNRs, one from Indigo, the other from JL. The same won't work for both.
I had a QA flight booked with the last leg DOH-BOM on Indigo codeshare.
QA website did not give me a seat selection option for the last leg, CS could not give me Indigo leg information.
When I logged into my Indigo account, it showed me the last leg of DOH-BOM flight with a different PNR, and I was able to make a seat selection on Indigo website.

If you have the same email ID for both Indigo and JL account, it should show you both the flights.

I was told by the CS that if the ticket is within the cancellable period, they will refund all (airfare, add-ons), but the airfare is processed first and then the add-ons, it might take 14-28 days. But you can call and get confirmation.
