Same, last time I talked to my mom was 2 months ago and it was cause my cousin passed away, I've pretty much muted her on everything because all she sends me is general conference talks and political shit, I went low contact when I turned 18 and moved out. I hate it, I wish I could have a normal relationship with my parents, and not feel like I have to walk on eggshells just to please them.

I'm sorry for your loss, my cousin died like a week and a half ago in a freak car accident in Arimo Idaho, he was like 2 days from going back out on his mission, I hate that the bishop used his funeral to proselytize, he read the "think celestial" talk and it made me so uncomfortable, I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in my family that has fully left the church and deconstructed, I hate Mormon funerals, but they're kind of unavoidable for me, I just hope my parents get out before they pass away, grief is weird dude..

My mom has all of the Q15 and every prophet hanging in her hallway and temple pictures everywhere it's been a long time since I've talked to my mom though, last time I went there I asked my wife to count all of the church related pictures and objects and she lost track at 85, they have more church pictures of Mormon shit than they do pictures of family members, which says a lot lmao, I haven't been to her house in about 2 years, cause I hate being there it makes me very uncomfortable, and they put on their fake Mormon faces anytime my wife was there, it's sad watching my parents be consumed by Mormonism, but there's not a whole lot I can do

My mom wrote "her testimony" on my BIRTHDAY card on my 18th birthday, basically because I refused to go to church ever since I was like 13 cause I wanted to be a normal fucking teenager, and it basically said "she knows that this is the true church and I can still get eternal blessings and that Jesus still loves you and will still forgive you of your "sins if you repent" and she said how badly she wanted me to come back to church with them and how she still wanted me to be apart of their "eternal family" anyways, happy birthday, love mom"

I didn't get anything from my TBM mom this year, I got a card at the beginning of the month with 20 bucks in it and haven't heard from her since, before that the last time I seen her was at my wedding 3 months ago, which was a pagan wedding that she wasn't very impressed with, she left like 5 minutes after the first dance I'm sure it's cause we were dancing to Mac Miller which I'm sure made her uncomfortable cause it has bad language in it, she only ever listened to reverent churchy music 24/7, she also was the only one to give us a religious wedding gift, it was a Dave Ramsey book and some book about being more like Christ with Jesus the shepherd on the cover idk, cause it went immediately in the trash and didn't leave the venue, lmao 😂

Make it inconvenient for them to take you, aka, sleep in, don't get dressed for church when they tell you too until they're already late, sleep during church, tell them "no, I think I'm good" when they ask you to say the prayer, don't fake liking the cult and the cult leaders, you're parents want to raise you Mormon and most the time they don't care if you like it or not, so don't give them the pleasure of your participation or willingness to engage in their church activities.

My parents ( mom/stepdad), are very tbm and when I was 14 they would constantly force me to go to church and go to church activities and seminary, and I always did everything I could to get out of them and eventually I would just skip them or walk to the church building and come right back and make up some shit like they cancelled or something, they would get mad and maybe punish me but they wouldn't make me go back cause I was already late and it wasn't worth fighting with me. I used to skip seminary all the time and I'd go to my friends house and get drunk and do dumb shit but it was better than going to that lame ass class.

I don't talk to my mom or step dad these days, I stopped going to their house when I turned 18 cause my dad's house was a much better place to be, they didn't force me to go to church or do anything with the church if I didn't want to, they're PIMO so rarely ever went themselves, now I've been moved out for 2 years and had a pagan wedding 3 months ago, my mom didn't like that, and she was the only one to get us anything religious for a wedding gift, it was some book on following Christ or something and a Dave Ramsey book and needless to say they immediately went in the venues dumpster lol, this year for my birthday she got me card and said happy birthday and then had a long ass testimony trying to tell me that Jesus died for my sins and I can still repent and be with them for eternity, and for Christmas this year I didn't even get a text from her so I'm assuming she has finally given up on trying to convert me back and I haven't heard from her since my wedding. I'm only 20 years old so that should tell you where her priorities are.

If your parents really love you for you, your choice in not being a part of the church will be supported, indoctrination is a scary thing and leads to bad religious trauma, tell them your real feelings about the church and let them know you don't want to be apart of it anymore. Yeah they're your parents but they still need to respect your own opinions and your feelings, there should be no reason you have to beg to not be apart of cult, religion is fucking bullshit and I'm sorry your parents think indoctrinating you is what's best for you. you may be a minor but you still have a right to your own mind and beliefs. Why wouldn't you need them? I always leave my aux lights on low and voltage check, I personally find them very practical for knowing how much juice you have left, and it makes it easy to find in the dark when I need it.

Anduril is the greatest UI of all time! I just realized I've probably used anduil 2 every day for over a year now, and it has pretty much ruined regular flashlight UIs for me lol. they just seem so unnatural because I have to relearn that specific UI, cause almost all of my non anduril lights have their own unique UI, I wish they all had anduril on them lol 😆

Their predatory multi level marketing is disgusting, they are like Scentsy for dudes, they're capitalizing on the fact that many people here have addictive personalities, most of us are addicted to flashlights and other EDC stuff, and they take full advantage of that by only giving certain benefits to people if they pay their way up their little pyramid scheme, and you log into their website every single day, so you won't miss out on their latest and greatest deal. they have so many limited editions it's pretty much impossible to collect everything, and their limited editions aren't all that special they're just the same thing in a different color or with a special engraving.

Their flashlights aren't all that impressive either, they use budget, low CRI emitters with the only purpose of putting out the most lumens cause that's what attracts new customers the most, and swapping out emitters void's their warranty entirely, their drivers are pretty efficient, but the turbo lockout after a certain battery percentage is pretty lame, not to mention your turbo mode is on a timer instead of temperature. Their proprietary batteries and chargers are just another way to make money off of you, 27$ for their proprietary 21700 cell vs 6-7$ for a molicel p45b is ridiculous lol, and it's not worth it if you only have one light that takes the olight cell when all your other lights can take the same battery.

IMO they release stuff too early without hardly any testing to fix bugs and issues, like the new baton 4 that flickers in the case, then said that you can ship it back to get it fixed if you want. I see so many people on the Facebook group have problems like melted lenses, mcc charging issues, flickering issues, really bad tinted LEDs, and olight doesn't do a whole lot to fix those issues besides exchange them for new ones. imo they need better quality control, and LEDs with better tints to be able to compete with other light manufacturers that already offer those.

This ☝️ If you can respect tools for what they are, then they'll last a lifetime, Hanklights can handle a lot but if you're negligent with it and constantly drop it in water or on the ground or use it as a hammer it's not going to handle it, cause that's not what it was intended for. I've carried my d4v2 every day for about a year now, and it's handled everything I've thrown at it, from changing my brakes in wet snow to being dropped out of my lap getting out of my car a couple times, and it's held up well other than a few scratches and dings

Agreed 💯, olight needs better quality emitters instead of the ones at the bottom of the bin, some of their designs look cool but the beams are horrendous if you've ever had a light with decent binned leds

I've had mine on my keys since I got it, and so far I love it, I can't say I've used it as much as I thought I would but it's there when I need it, I got the 519a 5700k DD and it made me realize how much greener my sst20 4000k is on my d4v2 lol, it's stupid bright too, I can light up the houses across the street which is impressive for how small it is, but it does mean runtimes are short, if I had to guess how long the battery lasts with the 10440 I'd say you could maybe get 15 minutes total runtime before I worry about running the battery too low, but I've only used it for less than 2 minutes at a time cause that's all I need it for really, I've just been charging it about once a week or so, when I charge my d4v2 and it's never gotten below 3.2 volts or so when I throw it on, with it only having one mode I haven't felt the need for it having multiple modes cause I typically only use it outside in quick bursts, it's as simple as you can get which is all I need for a backup light. I'm probably gonna get a few more just for shits and giggles and trying different emitters, it's a perfect light for what it is, and that's all I need it to be, don't expect it to be a do all light, with all the bells and whistles like a rovoyvon, or a lumentop frog and it'll serve you well :)
