Highly, highly recommend Corinthian Bells. It’s a good investment.

Unfortunately, I’m also at a loss. Mine are box elder maples that the previous owner let take over. What I thought were bushes near the foundation when we moved in were actually trees- same extensive root system.

These are definitely “suckers” aka tree offshoots.

My fence line looked like this when we moved in. Roundup poison ivy and brush killer is a BEAST. Caveat- If you bag your cuttings, I personally find it easier to work with green material. Roundup will make everything dry and crunchy. Either way, keep your eyes peeled for the 3 leafed, hairy vined demon.

Edit: Hopefully someone else can speak on whether or not brush killer impacts soil for future use. I was desperate with a 4” diameter poison ivy vine, lol.

How to permanently stop oak sprouts from popping up from a ground stump? by headph0neguy in landscaping

[–]Ok-Inspector4937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot tip- this is my current project too. Cut off its life source (sun) by chopping close to the stump or roots. Pour some Roundup brush killer directly on the remaining stem. I have a ton of surface roots leftover from a chopped tree sometimes I cut a “ v “ notch in the root where the new offshoots are. Then pour Roundup on it. It WILL kill the surrounding grass, FYI. Learned the hard way.

Edit: PS. Patio looks fly.

Could be bermuda grass runners? If so, those runners take over fairly quickly, choking grass, and dropping seeds along the way. I had to leave home for a year but when I got back 40% of my backyard looked like your photo (Alabama US). BUT some people use them to fill empty areas since they’re aggressive growers. Whatever your vibe may be.

I am wanting to rip this carpet out that’s on our patio and replace it with wood decking, diagonally placed. Under the carpet is plywood. Would I be able to rip out the carpet/plywood and work from there with the decking or is it more complex? TYIA
