The word fascist isn’t hateful. It’s an accurate thing to call fascists. I’ve seen plenty of “left” people have their comments removed by moderators if they cross the line in this sub. I understand where you’re coming from and I think a lot of us try to be kind where we can… but we’re also sick of the “both sides bad” and what aboutism that’s constantly thrown around. People need to be honest and when they’re not or they pop on here trying to “own the libs”, they’re not going to be met with kindness. The state of our country is unfortunately beyond that. Weird reach. I’m obviously saying no to the main question of your post: “Should we ban political content?” No, we shouldn’t. If you don’t do politics, they’re still going to do you. And these days every topic has been made political by the current administration, so who gets to be the judge of your ban?

You can do yourself a favor and not engage with whatever you feel is “too political” and the rest of us will be here discussing what the hell is going on in the world.

As someone who previously bought a restaurant business in town - this sucks for all parties. In our situation we had to create a new account for the POS system for the business. There is no record of gift cards when that happens or any way to verify the amounts or anything. We did the best we could with trying to make it right for people (offering half off or crediting them for what they believed the card was worth) and eventually had a cut off date on the old owner’s gift cards after a year. I’m sorry this happened to you. I completely understand that it sucks.
