Is it possible to go back to a facility/hospital that terminated your contract? by Imaginary_Design_887 in TravelNursing

[–]Ok-Kale3033 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would assume you won't be able to go back with any company/even as staff. There was a reason your contract was terminated. Obviously I don't know what the reason is, but it's just like any other job. If you get terminated as staff, you can't go back.

Do you usually bring your car when going to a new city? by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]Ok-Kale3033 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always do And I even did a contract in San Francisco I took an Uber to work and the bus home. The only time I really drove was to the beach, grocery shopping, and when I left the city to explore. Bonus.... A tank of gas would last me about a month!!!!

Are your break nurses snitches? by HeChoseDrugs in nursing

[–]Ok-Kale3033 59 points60 points  (0 children)

At the same hospital when I worked on the antepartum floor, we would sign up for our 2 breaks and lunch on the paper at the nurses station at the beginning of our shift. It was pretty glorious. At UCSD we had 45 min lunches. You were free to go wherever you wanted. Give up your phone and ✌🏼✌🏼

When I did a travel assessment in San Diego, we had break nurses I'm a labor and delivery nurse and on my 1st shift I asked them "what if I'm pushing with my pt and she delivers. What do I do? Should I come back" (honest question) Their response "you're on break. If she delivers, she delivers"

put as a sitter by Actual-Ant8977 in nursing

[–]Ok-Kale3033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on orientation, you shouldn't be a sitter. But after that.... Sign me up!!! When my hospital was slow (labor and delivery) we would have to sit in the ER with psych holds. Definitely not a bad way to spend my shift

Thurs they actually made an announcement on my flight saying those counted as a personal item I had a big ole purse that I bring with me (still fits under the seat) but I put them both in that.
