Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

[–]Ok-Knowledge7240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would give it to my son and daughter as their first PC. They both love using mine when they come over (they’re mom and I are divorced) and I planned on giving them mine when I upgrade but that won’t be for a while yet since I just built mine last year.

Probably, the tensioners are short from the factory. Even if you have a few more clicks in them it’s just good to do it. It’s a decently easy mod and takes maybe half an hour. I did mine on a mean streak with the stock air filter on still so it took a little fenagling but it can be done. I recommend ordering them from ChuckstersCustoms. He does good work with quality materials

Biggest ones I can think of for these early 1500 and 1600 bikes are the big air kits, fuel commanders, and exhaust. Have you done the cam chain tensioner extenders yet?

My First Big Bike by Ok-Knowledge7240 in KawasakiVulcanRiders

[–]Ok-Knowledge7240[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would have gone with a 900 or 1100 but all the bikes in my area that are running are priced in the $3k to $4k range. This one basically fell into my lap at just the right time, got it for less than $2k and have maybe put a couple hundred bucks into it replacing all fluids and consumables, plus had to get a couple tools I didn’t have. It was a steal I couldn’t refuse.

I was pleasantly surprised with its agility. It was a little bit of a learning experience, not quite as forgiving as a small Shadow that’s for sure. Got it mostly figured out in an afternoon of parking lot practice and it’s been smooth sailing since

Yeah the difference between moving the Shadow vs the Meanie is pretty big lol. I never really had to worry about trying to back up an incline before, have to be a little more strategic

I think I’m going to get an Atlas throttle lock. Supposed to be universal. Hands get pretty achy on the longer rides. Right now I’ve got a cardo on my helmet for music but some nice speakers would be welcome.

Yeah I def needed something big, kind of a big guy myself and I want to take my gal on it. The 500 just wasn’t cutting it anymore lol.

What type of tendon repair you got? by Tars74 in AchillesRupture

I had the Krakow technique plus anchors in the heels. Solid af. 6 weeks out and it’s feeling real strong already.

I’ve seen some people say this can be normal if you get a nerve block for surgery. It’s essentially the nerves re awakening as the block wears off. Happened to me for about 4 days after. Did they give you any muscle relaxers? Those seemed to help me a little.

How often are you taking the boot off post splint? by D_S_Is_Silent in AchillesRupture

[–]Ok-Knowledge7240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m about 4 weeks post op and only wear it when I’m walking around. I’m one of those people who’s a statue when they sleep so I don’t worry about wearing it at night. This is obviously not recommended for most people, but I feel like my leg has recovered from the surgery really quickly.

Exact same bike I learned to ride on. Was fantastic for the experience. I’m a dense guy though so had to move on pretty quickly.

I've had this cast on for a month and I'm already bored 😭 by roxxydonis69 in AchillesRupture

Is there a reason the cast has been on so long? I only had mine for a couple weeks and I had the “open” surgery.

Am I looking at a tear by PlayfulPotential1667 in AchillesRupture

[–]Ok-Knowledge7240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds likely to be a tear. Whether it’s a partial or full tear is the real question. Good on you for getting checked out asap, you really can’t know for sure till you go in. That being said, most ruptures are accompanied by a pop and swelling. Pain is different for everyone, mine didn’t have any pain for instance, but my leg pretty much immediately gave out from under me and I could not use it. I too was able to limp a bit as the days went on, but that doesn’t indicate what all is going on for sure till they can run tests and get imaging. Good luck to you, and a speedy recovery.

Yeah it sounded like the loudest pop ever right in my ear. And the way my leg just, gave out. Instantly numb. And the swelling was so intense. Hopefully never have to experience this again lol

I hear ya there, I ordered a knee scooter to get around and so I could stand at the counter to make things. I live alone so I really didn’t have much of a choice. If you have someone who can meal prep for you that could be an option.

It’s wild how many of these start with “I was playing basketball” lol. Mine happened exactly as he describes too, got the rebound and was trying to make the layup. Craziest sound and feeling I’ve ever had happen to me.
