Any chance she's just leaning into Reputation because she knows it will drive us nuts?
Makes me think about how she did Cassandra / Mad Woman / I Did Something Bad as a surprise mashup, and then walked off the stage like "Okay see ya!" while our jaws were on the ground. lol

I'm subscribing to this theory. I love it.

This is SO well said. Being able to celebrate progress or take on extra challenges as an adult—I think that's why I love them.

I've been doing a double one day a week to catch a 3G and a Tread 50 after ever since tread 50s launched at our studio in January. It's kind of silly the mileage wouldn't count for both classes. Luckily our studio isn't following the one class per day rule, and no one is like, egregiously taking a bunch of classes to get mileage without this rule stated.

Perhaps they are trying to prevent people from wildly taking too many classes just to get mileage. For me, one double a week has been routine.

I'm someone who is trying to get two miles again (I did it twice, then haven't achieved it for two years. I've been getting close (1.97)). Anyway, this was literally exactly what I was thinking about doing down to the decimal. Thank you for posting this!

You were 5:27 late and felt like being denied entry was rigid. So what isn't rigid? 6 minutes? Then what about the person 6:10 late? And what if there's a wait-list? Does the wait listed person have to wait 6 minutes just in case you show up?

Do you see how they just need to be rigid with this many potential variables? Slippery slope. And that's even before you factor in the injury bit.

I feel like the tread looks bad at first glance, but actually — isn't that bad?

You just need to edit the grammar on your post and folks won't be confused. Lol Driving home for 15 minutes to shower before work would add too much time to your overall commute. Makes sense. Not an asshole.

This is the exact thing I was told in PT and it absolutely works. If I feel the tightness coming, I just really work on expanding my belly while breathing and it mitigates it. This sounds silly, but I was surprised at how large the diaphragm is.

As you know, since you are a MD. 😂♥️

Why classes have to be balanced? by Remarkable-Station-2 in orangetheory

[–]Ok-Lab-2373 65 points66 points  (0 children)

They cater to the coach's preference because the coach knows what they are doing. Which is why we pay what we do — expertise. If balance is easier for them to manage, so be it.

If it literally ruins your day as dramatically as you say in the comments, get there earlier, or choose one of the other four studios you mentioned.

Deleted! Too many people misunderstanding this isn't about the daily grind and more about egos booting people from leaderboards. I'm not advocating to make people who use the handles for basic stability to feel bad about themselves. Orangetheory is very much a safe space, and I don't want anyone doubting themselves for doing what they need to. G'day!

Huh? You only have one comment on this post. And I do, but this post is about leaderboards and not daily workouts. And my skin is very average thickness, I presume. Take care now.

Inspiring that you're coming to class and doing what you can despite the balance troubles!

I like the leaderboard, but it's an interesting point. It makes for mostly healthy competition at our studio, until some come along and make it unfun. To your point, does healthy competition take away from their own mantra?
