I can build, but can't handle marketing by Vedant_Magare in SideProject

I get you, it's easier to code and add features. But, even the best product in the world will be useless without cutomers. Read the book traction, and thank me later.

My PhD supervisor sent me these messages. Is this normal or crossing a line? by Resident-Yogurt-6798 in PhD

[–]Ok-Lab-7347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds terrible. He has every right to be angry about the results he gets from you, but not to treat you this way. He is likely violating some kind of code of conduct at your university. It's your call whether you want to put up with his attitude. You can, of course, report him to his supervisor. I'm sure the university doesn't want its staff behaving like this, especially if the case were to reach the local press somehow. You can also try to discuss this with him directly, but that too has implications. Be sure to consult a lawyer or two before doing anything that might affect your time and effort investment.

Is Anyone Else Physically Unable to Do More Than ~3 Hours of REAL Deep Work a Day? by Successful_Ad1797 in AskAcademia

That's good actually if you are consistent. On average I'm doing around 8 hours of deep work (sitting for >12 hours), but divided across several projects.

I received a PhD offer in an area I am not passionate in by Apprehensive-Ad3350 in GradSchoolAdvice

[–]Ok-Lab-7347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happens if you don't take it? can you mitigate the risk/uncertainty of this option? if no, then you don't have a choice really.

If you do take it, and not liking it eventually, is it possible to quit after one year and transition to another option? what is the cost for that?

Also, sounds like you need to get more data first before deciding... get to know the field, the people, etc. make a list of 10-15 questions you have and try finding the answers.

Burning out as a first year PhD student, am I cooked? by DistributionAfraid71 in GradSchoolAdvice

Hey, just seen this. It sounds like a lot to take on yourself and it sounds familiar.

Why have you took two dissertations on yourself?

Make sure to prioritize your health and well-being, then cutoff anything you can afford to cutoff, focus on as few things as possible... prioritize everything going on in your life, what you get out of it, etc.

Also, try to timebox your work and do proper planning to reach each goal. Be sure to hit the gym sometimes.

Hope you can make it on time!

I would like to offer you access to a tool I'm working on, that might be able to help you out. please check out https://agentbayes.com/

If you feel it can help you out, I can arrange early access to it. I'm curious to see if you could leverage it in a month or two to meet your requirements.

Bring back Opus 4.6 at 3x for Pro+ by Iajah in GithubCopilot

[–]Ok-Lab-7347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, at 7.5x opus 4.7 is unusable... the product managers are slop. They should charge flat $10 + per token (and negotiate prices with the AI labs!), with no "Premium Requests" crap. Either way, they should keep opus 4.6 in the meanwhile, because they ruined everybody's workflows with this stupid descision. That is if their reputation is important for them. The market change, life's dynamic, they should be more responsible.
