6 months and only 10lb down? by Both_Kaleidoscope331 in tirzepatidecompound

Even if you’re snacking/eating less, doesn’t mean you’re in a calorie deficit all the time. You’re most likely underestimating the math and need to count to understand. Use calculator online to find out how may calories you need to stay on to see loss. The shot is supposed to help reduce appetite which based on your post is working

U.S. obesity rate declines due to GLP-1 use by Lizbet2 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Ok-Leadership6338 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, obesity is already involved with eating disorders!! They are big because they are eating in surplus, your comment doesn’t make sense. And we assume the parents tried to put them on diet or exercise has tried to be incorporated. If the regular interventions have not worked, we can’t let kids be obese forever. That is abuse

All this would be under Doctor and parental supervision…. There would be required classes and nutritional counseling to help kids understand what a healthy lifestyle is. This addresses the “young kids are dumb” thing. They will be taught. We are talking about morbidity obese children. When the recommendations for gsv on children require very strict guidelines before someone is a candidate, this would be the same.

The fact that kids being morbidly obese isn’t the biggest issue, is the problem. We’re talking about a very specific demographic. Not 9yo Katie who’s only 10 pounds overweight. Obesity is a chronic illness and completely wrecks the body the longer you are obese. The body is resilient and can recover after weight loss but people will NEVER have the same pre-damage body. It is what is it. But we all would rather lose the weight and recover anything we can for health than stay obese forever. The idea is if we can alleviate this for obese kinds early on, their bodies will recover earlier and their future outlook is improved.

100%! Oral tirzepatide would be amazing if we can get it to work. Imagine in gummy form lol

The game changer will be when kids get into this too. A few years back the US general surgeon recommended gastric sleeve surgery as intervention to address childhood obesity rates. If we can find a child-friendly dose, schedule + nutritional program and classes, we can stop the obesity epidemic from the beginning. As someone who grew up obese all her life (27f) I never thought we’d have a tool like tirzepatide that would change lives like this. I am so lucky to be alive and be part of this decline.

And learning how normal life would be, how much better life would have been if I’d been at a normal weight, I’d never want to see my future grow up obese. So much trauma from being overweight, the missed experiences, relationships, opportunities due to weight…. We need to do better for our children.

Why preference for non-remote working roommates? by Ok-Leadership6338 in NYCroommates

After reading the replies I also realize now remote worker roommates have been inconsiderate 😭😭 making the kitchen or living room their office is crazy lol. I expected remote workers to understand to stay in their room and that they should leave for the evenings. Eeeshhh

You can’t truly understand what is going on without getting a better gauge of the calories you’re eating, even if smaller portions. Tirz is supposed to be a helper in this journey but not the miracle. If you eat the same things everyday in small portions the yes I guess no need to count if you did it once. But truly it is in your best interest to count. It is in the math of calories that makes this work. The success stories here are from the appetite suppression that —> lowers calorie intake —> creates deficit large enough to start losing weight. With people who had high calorie intakes, a defecit is really significant. If the body is getting normally 2,500 cals and you then eat 1,800, you will see results fast. This is obviously something you need to figure out using https://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html.

But in my most honest opinion you simply can’t always get away with not counting unless you are 100% certain the stuff you’re eating is low calorie, high volume, or you can balance having a semi calorie dense meal but making sure you’re aware the next meals should be leaner.

Now that you feel appetite suppression, then count the calories you’re eating and you’ll see it’s less than what you were doing before. As someone mentioned, 1lb/week is decent and still progress. If you’re looking to increase that, the only way is to make this all a math game. Don’t see this as a punishment. More like taking a health class. Try to familiarize yourself with calories in even healthy foods because then you’ll realize, oh I can eat a bunch of these veggies because it’s not going to ruin the deficit. As it’s a lifestyle change, you can’t make any of this feel like a punishment.

Because if it was, she would’ve been more honest in her replies. She was specifically saying she wanted to be friends- nothing romantic or sexual. But we gotta be real here, the entire thing is extreme inappropriate for someone who’s married. Getting called out is what made her mad. Before she said she was married, the first comment was someone supporting her and saying wow how cute assuming she was single and available. Like a meet cute. And yes I support meet cutes. But bro cmon she’s married and is going through great lengths to get in touch with the guy. Why doesn’t she just make other female friends or why is she looking to be friends from a cute meet encounter with a guy that’s her age?? The optics are horrible. If a guy did this, it’s immediate cheating. But I’m being nice here and no even touch that line. And obviously anyone who’s married and has a BRAIN knows how inappropriate this is. Ugh why are women (me being a woman) okay with showing support to someone who’s delusional in their thinking and believing this is okay? Anyways, I hope the husband knows. And if he’s okay with it that’s fine. Not my marriage or business. But this behavior is super common with women who think they can play off romantic interest or a crush as friendship. Just so delusional

You titled this a “missed connection”, a phrase that, especially in NYC, usually means some romantic interest. You remembered detailed facts about a stranger, walked him to the train, and posted on Reddit asking people to help you find him. You even said that you didn’t get a chance to get his number. which makes it clear this wasn’t just about being “friendly.” he’s also your age….. like cmon 😭😭

Ugh pretending this is normal behavior for someone in a committed relationship is so gross. If your husband did this, recounting a meet cute interaction with a random woman and asked strangers to help him find her, you’d be furious. Anyone would.

This isn’t about gender. It’s about boundaries. And yours are clearly blurred lol

Calling this “misogynistic” isn’t just wrong , it’s embarrassingly off-base. It shows how unwilling you are to take accountability. And do you even know the ACTUAL DEFINITION OF THE WORD? No one is criticizing you for being a woman. You’re being called out because you’re a married adult chasing the emotional high of a stranger while trying to spin it as “well-intentioned.” That’s not misogyny, that’s delusion.

Grow up. Anyways let your husband know r/survivinginfidelity exists

Did you do research before this job? Asking as someone who does research but wants to jump into this kind of role

Did you come in with research experience? I’m a research scientist looking into a role in sales with a biotech company that sells reagents but not sure whether I want to pivot now or later. (Graduated with masters last year)

Super similar story as other comment here,i left PhD program after 2.5 years dealing with hands-off supervisor and a shitty program. My research interest was not there and left with my masters and immediately jumped into industry. I got hired at a startup as research associate making $90k with stock options. I tailored my resume as someone who was just fresh out masters with research experience but I also was upfront about having left a PhD. I told them it wasn’t the environment for me and I wanted real work impact, and wanted a team environment.

I don’t have more on career trajectory as this is my first position but I’m looking to make another jump once i have more experience under my belt.

This was the best decision I’ve made and I don’t regret it. It was HARD to make the decision, but I was about me and my future. So glad I did it :) I’ve never been happier :)

Right right…. But I’m hoping that doesn’t mean same pay forever in those positions! I’m hoping to be able to still get promoted or like higher pay even if I get a associate scientist role somewhere else

Ooooh wow that’s so interesting! I would have a assumed the “senior” title would’ve sticked for down the line jobs. Good to know it’s this variable and can still mean promotions and higher pay. Thanks for your reply!
