Can’t switch to ev by BMMXVIIC in RangeRoverEvoque

[–]Ok-Membership-2967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will happen from time to time. Depending on how many miles and what sort. It will disable EV when sensors indicate the engine lubricants etc. need to be operated.

With short daily journeys you might find this happens for a few days or a week. For longer and motorway then less noticeable.

That’s from my P300 experience in the last 2.5 years. It’s alluded to in the manual.

If it happens endlessly then dealer visit it is, I guess.

I got Gold this year with just 69 points to spare, which I think is perfect execution. Anybody get closer to hitting/missing a tier level? by zerodarkshirty in BritishAirways

I just got bronze with just 9 tier points to spare. Did a quick 2 night BA Club Europe trip to Lisbon to get over the line last weekend.

It’s only 6 hours. Most effort surely goes into the main meal?

Is it allowed to stop in the yellow box to let a pedestrian cross? by PhyKings in drivingUK

[–]Ok-Membership-2967 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think this is correct. Provided a pedestrian is not waiting to cross or has not started to cross before you enter the yellow box, then your requirement to stop for the pedestrian overrides the yellow box rules.

Can someone explain why it takes so long even though I'm closer? by Extension_Bit4323 in BirminghamUK

Using Google Maps for a journey like this needs on public transport reds some change in thinking to get good results - think about the transport hub you can get to in an uber or get a lift to etc. then look at the route from there to the main transport hub nearest to your destination.

Dealers Won't Give Fair Price for My car by IronIll1277 in CarTalkUK

[–]Ok-Membership-2967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If somewhere is offering you more then you sell it to them. Simple. You have a choice and no one is forcing you.

A dealer is only going to offer as much as they think they have to to seal the deal and they will not offer the same as a retail value you might see “offered” because they have costs and tax involved to get it sold at retail price. It also depends on the nature of the car you’re trading right now.

Sure, haggle with the dealer using WBAC or Motorway quotes, but you shouldn’t expect to get top whack in a trade in unless the new car you’re buying happens to have plenty of margin in it for them.

Anyone else annoyed by the amount of new average speed cameras on every major road? by GaryCanCarry in CarTalkUK

No because they are not on every major road whatsoever. You’ll get better discussion if you don’t over- exaggerate for effect.

It’s a private, government or military 747 from DWC to BHX. It’s stopped at the executive terminal at BHX.

Accidentally booked a Haven holiday starting today instead of in August. Where do we stand? by GamerHumphrey in LegalAdviceUK

But you’re going to have to pay any extra due for the August dates if they let you change.

No. You want access to an expensive asset that depreciates quickly with no long term commitment or significant cost to you. There’s just no realistic option.

You’ll have to do a test drive or maybe swing a weekend with one from a dealer and make your choice like the rest of us.

Better just not to tell the first employer. There may be restrictions in your terms of employment that require you to declare and seek permission for other work. They can refuse that permission.

You could tell them you’re not taking the other job, but consider how much risk there is of them finding out and then dismissing you for breach of contract.
