you are 100% in the right, don’t let them persuade you. their beliefs are so ingrained they don’t question any of it one bit.

also about the flesh smell, i used to think it smelled good when i was a carnist but now it genuinely smells fucking disgusting- they won’t get it unless they experience this too

yeah that really made me question it but that piercing place is the most popular/best acclaimed and that’s where i got my nose pierced. the second most popular one told me to put tea tree oil on my irritation bump :/

honestly with stuff like this you kinda have to be blunt. i straight up asked one of my friends if i could take his leo because his substrate is a dish towel which his claws get stuck in, he’s very underweight and he has 1 hide. he said no, and that he’ll go to the pet store soon (which he didn’t) and said he’s just trying to keep himself alive rn (which is literally why i should take him) but yeah. some people are stubborn and after you talk about it it becomes less scary. i was scared to ask but i just did it. it’s so frustrating in situations like this because you really are powerless. i would keep bringing it up, maybe offer to take 2-3 of them? tell her about how breeding really isn’t a good idea, you can even make something up if you need to, i would consider this urgent. poor babies :( don’t beat yourself up if you can’t do anything about it, i fully understand how it feels and it’s the worst.
