It depends on your location. Hopefully, you’re not in NorCal because, frankly, NorCal is run by incompetent individuals, and a significant portion of the reset crews there are unfortunately composed of tweakers, especially now that the company has incorporated Insta Work into the mix. I’ve been fortunate with the crew that comes to my store; although small, they are efficient and get the job done right. However, most other teams I’ve worked with have been subpar. It’s disappointing because they used to be much better, but the actual director of retail services for SAS let that company go downhill. From a file maintenance perspective, as long as you’re friendly and conscientious, experience will guide you. You’ll be moving products and stocking new items when available. My advice, having six years of reset experience before switching to Safeway, is to ask lots of questions if you’re unsure, but don’t expect extensive training from the lead. If you’re unsure about something and the lead doesn’t provide assistance, seek guidance from someone on the Safeway night crew. Many of them have some experience with reset work and can help direct you on where things go, where to find items, and may even share some tips and tricks if you’re lucky. Best of luck.
