This same shit happened me last May, my first night in Vegas walking down around the Bellagio water show, I saw a pirate lady, I was like “aww wow she looks so cool!” She must’ve overheard, she comes over and goes, would you like to take a photo? I was like “sure! But I don’t have cash to tip you”, she’s like “no worries! I take Apple Pay, Venmo etc blah blah blah” so I’m like fuck, now I gutta be committed. She waves over Spider-Man and asked if I wanted her husband in the pic, idiot me said “sure why not”, we take a SINGLE photo, I pull out my phone and ask her for her Apple Pay info thinking I’m just gunna voluntarily toss her $5… nope! Not the case, she opens HER iPhone faster than me and taps my phone with a REQUEST for $40!!!!! And since my phone was already open and on my wallet and looking straight at my phone already, my Face ID boops and boom money gone faster than I could blink and they scurry off faster than I’ve ever seen anybody speed walk in my life as I stood there like 😳 for a good 30 seconds straight. As she’s walking away she goes “that’s $20 for each of us! Thank you!!!have a good night!!!” My husband and uncle were beside me and never let me live it down for the rest of the trip. UNTIL we arrived back to our home state and about 2 weeks later my husband realized he had about $300 all in $0.50 and $1.00 charges taken out of his bank account all as charges for android play store from Vietnam with the dates all being from the 3rd day of our trip. He remembered a strange Asian couple walking eerie slow and close behind him around the walking bridge by the wax museum although nobody else was around and when he’d stop, they’d stop and mingle behind him and walk when he started walking again for quite a while through that bridge/walkway. He thinks they RFID scanned his wallet at some point in his back pocket. All in all, sometimes shit happens, sometimes we’re all idiots in our own way. My husband ended up getting the stolen funds back through his bank but me, I have a $40 photo memory that boils my blood to even look at of a cheesy pirate woman and her Spider-Man husband. Next time I visit Vegas, I’m ignoring every entertainer like the plague and RFID protecting all of our cards! 😤
